:: I snap my fingers, and the band, man with coffee, and donkey disappear, as well as the donkey dung.::
"When you get done throwing up Captain..., I think your needed on the bridge. But I must say..., your missing out on a great cup of coffee."
::I continue sipping, and enjoying the coffee, as the Captain regains her composure, and readies herself to rejoin the bridge.::

::Quickly running her hands under the Insta-Sanitizer:: "Thank you, Q. Save me a cup for later, minus the donkey." ::She heads out the door.::

::As the Dr. and I enter the Ready Room, I scan the room for any Q like activity. Finding none, I wave towards the chair and walk over to the replicator.::
"Can I get you anything, a drink or some food?" ::Using the controls, instead of the vocal interface, I punch up a nice hot cup of coffee, two sugars, two creams. In an instant, it's waiting for me, and I take it out and turn back towards Dr. Tal'Aura.::

:: I take a seat in the chair opposite the Captains desk::
“A drink sounds most acceptable, shame its to early for some Romulan Ale I brought a very good bottle with me. I have tried the odd Earth drink, that Earl Grey Tea your Captain Picard enjoys, it was not for me however. I would one day like the opportunity to meet Captain Picard and thank him for stopping Shinzon. Oh yea a drink, do your machines do a good Vulcan mocha?”

::Turning back towards the replicator, I poke at the console::
"Actually, yes we do."
::the beverage appears and I pass it to Dr. Tal'Aura as I walk past her to take my seat. As I sit, I take a furtive glance around the room.....looking for signs of Q::
"I hope you are comfortable. I guess we should get down to business. I have confirmed the presence of a species known only by their Borg designation, 8472. I don't know if you realize just how terrible a threat this species is, but in our past experience, they intended to "Purge all Life from our Galaxy". I would very much like to know how, exactly, your people became involved with them?"
::I slowly sip at my coffee as I await the response::

::Without the Captain knowing, I have disabled her combadge, and computers in her ready room. I have also locked her inside, for the time being.::
::I think she needs to spend a little time, getting to know her guest, without interruption.::

:: I take the cup and hold it for a moment, then bring it up closer to my face and breathe in deeply, after a second or two I breathe out and take a sip. ::
“Ahhhh, that is quite good, our replicator’s on the Talvoth had been down since we were caught in a blast wave leaving the Chaltok system, it’s been a long time since I had an acceptable drink in my hand.”
:: I look up and think about what the captain has just said ::
“Species 8472, as names go it’s not very exciting for one if not the most powerful we’ve encountered, shame we couldn’t have borrowed a few of them against the Dominion. I wonder if the Senate knew the Federation had contact with this species, there was nothing in the science reports I’d seen, and I do believe with their numbers and power they could fulfill that threat of purging all Life, this is rather worrying.”
:: I think for a few moments, knowing that the captain is waiting for something from me, honour or survival, logically there can only be one answer to that…I look up at the captain again ::
“Captain, well where to begin, now you must know a lot about Romulan’s well, for a Starfleet officer anyway. So you will understand what I am about to reveal to you is not an easy task for me, and will destroy my family’s honour and standing in Romulan society. But I must do this or risk loosing what’s left of the Romulan way of life and possible all life in our Galaxy, but if we survive all this it’s likely I won’t be able to return home, I will need sanctuary or asylum, will you be able to provide me that?”

::Realizing this was leading up to something, I pondered for a moment over my coffee::
"Well, I could do that temporarily, however, a longer term decision on that would have to come from Federation Headquarters. Of course, both I and they would require a much more complete explanation of the events leading up to and including all of your association with 8472. And, after that, we could decide."
::A Console to Console text had popped up on my screen, so I had been sitting forward, cup between my hands, elbows on the desk. Now I sit back, bringing the cup with me and up to my chin, elbows on the armrests of my chair.::

:: I look at the captain for a few seconds, then laugh::
“ha ha ha, I can see why they sent you Captain.”
:: I nod my head ::
“It seams you have left me no choice, we have an accord.”
:: I finish my drink, place it on the edge of the desk while gathering my thoughts :: “I guess we’d better start at the beginning, before we knew anything of the 8472, before we even knew you…As you know, the Romulan and Vulcan people divided from each other many thousands of years ago during the time of Awakening, I believe you’re Earth 4th century, and this led to the creation of the Romulan Star Empire, as we were expanding another conflict with the Vulcan’s occurred, it was called the 100 year war, I’ll let you guess why. That is widely known, what however is not, is that just before that war we were visited by a powerful entity, a being that called himself ‘Q’…Ah I see from you’re expression we are not the only race to have been ‘touched’.
Q visited time and time again over thousands of years, well I can only assume it was the same being, it was a pet project for at the science ministry after I saw Q once, it was a challenge for me to track down a lot of the visits, I thought for a while I’d lost the trail when I noticed Q also used the name ‘Quinn’. Its visits usually coincided with a period of expanse and prosperity for the Empire, or war and destruction.
When this Q or Quinn, visited it wasn’t long until new technology was invented, I don’t think the 2 are coincidences, Warp Drive, Plasma Weapons, Clocking Device and from the second to last visit the idea for the artificial quantum singularity which now powers our fleet.
Then several months ago Q appeared again, I was surprised to read in the records it got angry when Dr Til’cak called it Quinn. This Q said there was a way to travel faster and further without warp drive, freeing up and increasing power output which would make our Warbirds more powerful and more efficient than your federation Starships.”

::Nodding my head I say..:
"Yes, Q beings have visited several Federation Ships. We have found them to be...annoying, and sometimes dangerous. There doesn't seem to be any way to stop them. Please, continue."

"Yes, I agree with you’re assessment of Q." ::I think for a moment, and wish I had another drink:: I wish I’d been there when ‘Q’ last visited or when the orders to proceed were given, I live on Chaltok IV it’s an important science outpost, my work was focused mainly on the new prototype cloaking device, but before they ‘actvated’ this Warp tunnel my colleagues sent me the plans, I knew something didn’t seem right, but the Senate wouldn’t listen, they sent me away to test the latest version of the new cloaking device, and then opened a gate way, we thought it would be a warp tunnel which would instantly take our ships across huge distances, instead it took us to a strange dimension, almost a liquid space. The Senate still saw the opportunity to expand, in went a fleet of Warbirds, well they were never heard from again..,I’m sure you can guess what happened next, they came through, the Romulan Guard did what they could, I arrived back to a war zone and a destroyed home the Tal Shiar, then evacuated all the remaining scientists from Chaltok IV in the hope we could come up with away to stop this invasion. Then to make matters worse, the Remans started fighting against us, it was as if they were under some sort of telepathic control, the more Remans controlled the more they could control, our scanners showed the telepathic wave has now reached this far. My Empire now has alien ships destroying whole cities and planets, and our own fleet is either helping them or destroyed. As I was taken out of the Chaltok system we were followed, we tired to loose them but were grazed by one of their city destroying blasts and almost lost the cloak. I hope any pursuit followed the Talvoth and not us.
Captain, we need you’re help. I will do anything I can for my people. I am at your service."

::The ship is rocked violently, and the Captain and Ambassador, are thrown onto the floor.::
::I release my hold on keeping the Captain locked inside her ready room. I have also returned control of her com badge, and communications.::
::As the Captain stands up, regaining her composure, she see's the USS Enterprise-E appear outside of the window, in her ready room. Knowing this is likely the doing of Q, she quickly helps the Ambassador back to his feet.::

"It looks like Q has been busy making trouble for us, again!"
::I gesture towards the door leading to the Bridge, the Ambassador quickly exits, with me right on her heels.::
