::Taking the Padd:: Well it would seem that what they want is someone to snoop around and see what's up without causing a scene, Border Patrol is alway's a bit boring and sometimes you want some action, sounds like we may get some of that. I wish they would give us a bit more information.

I don't know, and I can't understand why I wasn't given more information. Who knows, maybe Command is just being overly cautious, still I want the crew ready for anything. I get a strange feeling that something must be brewing though. I'm going to call in a few favors from some friends of mine, they might be able to give me some clue as to what to expect out there. I am kind of excited about putting the ship to the test though, and I'm sure the crew is just itching for something more exciting than border patrol.

Well, I think we will start with some battle drills, and emergency evacuation drills, I'll have engineering run some drills too, we have the new warp core ejections system, they need to try it out. We won't actually eject the core of course, but we can run that simulation on the holodeck. That will keep everyone alert, when we get closer to the border we can hike things up to yellow alert though. I'm going to send a few messages to a few ppl, and if you don't mind, I'd like you to make sure the crew knows our orders.

I finally finished sending Brickly my messages, three of them, short and sweet. I thought about another cup of coffee, looked at the time and decided no. Holodeck time for me, then a light supper and bed for six hours. I headed to the turbolift.

:: As I re-enter I ask the replicator for a cup of coffee, this time Chocolate Mint, three sugars, light milk, then took my seat. I addressed the comm system and, not realizing Brickly was on a break said... ::
"Ensign, I have some messages I need you to send off for me, I will send them to you as I get them finished. Captain out."
:: I set up my messages, sent them through to the comm station, and headed off to check out the new Holodecks.! ::

::Returning, I got a cup of Mint Hot Chocolate from the replicator and sat at my desk, pondering what I would need to tell the crew. Then the display lit up with an Eyes Only message.::
"Ahh, my response." I breathed, reading the decoded message. It was short and to the point, apparently Picard was informed of my mission and had already figured out my plans to try and contact Spock. He had sent me a set of coordinates and a one word message. I input the coordinates, set up the message and returned it through the system, re-encrypting it for Eyes Only Security. I sat back, and waited yet again.

After having found every concievable way to while away time waiting for Spock to respond, I decided I should go back to the Bridge, pull my Command staff together and see if they had any opinions. I figured, I would make it an informal meeting, in the main dining room maybe over snacks and coffee? Hmm, no that isn't the right tone for the meeting, aahhh yes in the Aft Conf lounge over just coffee. I left my Ready Room and headed onto the Bridge.

After having checked out the snaffoo at communications, I discovered that the breakdown had occured when Medical Ensign Watson Steele had called for a Security team to be sent to the Counselors office. I listened to her description of the situation there, and decided to allow the Security team to investigate. While I wait for their report, I'll just do some research on similiar incidents in the Starfleet Database.

::From Bridge {::Ensign Brickly acknowledges, She walks over to the Ready Room and enters.::}::
::Sighing as she sits in her desk chair, she adjusts the computer screen for better viewing, then punches up the Federation Data on species 8472. After a few minutes, she rubs her eys, goes to the replicator, asks for a cup of coffee with cream and sugar, hot, then sits back down to continue reading the data.::

"Q," :she says in a strained tone: "While I can appreciate a good 'cup of joe', I do not generally speaking enjoooyy...." :she is suddenly overcome with a gag reflex, as the donkey has messed on the floor.: "oohhh my goggrrr..." :she covers her mouth and nose and runs to the new restroom, just off the Ready Room, installed during the ships last upgrades.
