I play a quote game on another Forum, which is fun. I thought we could try one here. The rules are quite simple, I start with a quote from a sci-fi / fantasy TV show or film, and everyone else has to guess who said it and where it came from. (If you want to show off you can give the episode, inside leg measurement of character etc ) For Example Q: “Smoke me a kipper, I’ll be back for breakfast” A: Ace Rimmer, Red Dwarf, Dimension Jump etc. ’ll start with an easy one. “Today is a good day to die”

Anyhow - here is another easy one for you guys: "The line must be drawn *here*. This far! No farther! And *I* will make them PAY for what they've done..."daxmaryrussel

"The line must be drawn *here*. This far! No farther! And *I* will make them PAY for what they've done..." Captain Jean-Luc Picard - Star Trek: First Contact So which Trek Movie is this from - who said it - and to whom ? "I need all the power you can muster, Mister."

Cool, it's working!! daxmaryrussel you were of course correct, and I thought it was going to be a hard one ha ha. "I need all the power you can muster, Mister." I think was said but Jim Kirk, and I hope I'm right in saying Scotty's reply was "Don't you worry, Captain. We'll beat those Klingon devils, even if I have to get out and push ..." - A dam fine reply!! That's Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. Let me know if I got that correct, I'm a bit rusty on my Trek Quotes!!

No, not only Trek. I think that Kirk and Scotty bit is my favourite part of Star Trek V, well that and Scotty banging his head and knocking himself out!!
OK, next quote, and I think it’s more difficult. Another of my favourite quotes.
“I plan to live forever...or die trying”

Most probable reference would be Vila Restal in Blake's 7?

Most probable reference would be Vila Restal in Blake's 7? Blake's 7 - Season 1 - Episode 4 - "Time Squad" Originally shown on BBC1 on Janurary 23rd 1978 CALLY: "My work was in communications. But there will be companions for my death. I plan to raid the complex. To destroy until I am destroyed." BLAKE: "Well, our aim's the same. But I wasn't planning a suicide mission." VILA: "I should hope not." CALLY: " He fears death?" VILA: "I plan to live forever. Or die trying."BLAKE: "If you can get us inside that complex, we'll provide all the destruction you want. And still get out safely." AVON: "Or die trying."

That's an amazing quote isn't it - sums up Vila very well The idea of the game is that the Winner poses the next quote - but I think we'll go with Shaun's Heres a quote 'When you get to my age, you'll find that time doesn't matter too much. Not that I expect you will get to my age. ' Name the series, the story and the character.

That does sound like a Doctor Who one to me as well, something Tom Bakerish.
Once an answer has been posted, I think we should only wait about say 5 days or a week (?) for an answer, to keep the game flowing.

As we've not heard from Shaun, shall we say Dax got it right. Your turn to give us a quote.

We'll give you a couple of days. Good Luck! (and come on now, guys... give it a try!) daxmaryrussel --- "It is difficult to answer when one does not understand the question." I've been trying to think where I've heard this, I don't think its any of the Star Treks, or Babylon 5. Not Farscape, or Buffy. It could be Stargate - Jack O'Neil ish but I've no idea if it is. It's not Blakes 7, Could maybe be doctor who someone from UNIT or something. Any one else got any ideas?

Jack O'Neill - Stargate SG1 - The Serpent's Lair Silverhawk! Cannot argue with that. Brilliant and Congrats! The Serpent's Lair is the first ep of seasong two when Stargate is really starting to hit off! Here in Sweden they ONLY showed the first season and it took me up to the last episode of season 1 (where they finally got some space ships ;D ;D) before I started to really like the show (and then it took me even longer to get over MacGyvver, but now I LOVE him ;D ) Anyhow, enough reminiscence (I could go on forever ) Now quote game is over to you Silverhawk! daxmaryrussel --- O'Neill, to the image of Apophis on the Great Big Flying Ball: "Hey pops!" SG1 ep 21 Season 1 "Within the Serpent's Grasp"
