Synergy City ;D I have 3 mixes of that 'Pasadena' cut, in fact Dale, you'll either love or hate this ;D I have a huge collection of surf and hot rod tracks, on vinyl, cassette, reel to reel and CD, been collecting for years. Yep, got Dick Dale (I'm sure you are only a dick after a night on the brews, just like me), Chantays, Sunrays, Rivingtons, Hondells, Beach Boys from Hawthorn, Jan & Dean and loads of one off cuts, even Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon surf cuts. Thats why I'm vaguely familiar with the geography of the region, but I'm well pleased to learn that I was spot on, at least I won't get lost when I rent a car and drive down the 15 to see you. Thanks for giving me that confidence boost, and Route 66 runs past your front door. I saw the Rolling Stones perform an extended live version of that superb tune back in 1966 in London, still love their version, its still sounds raw, and inspires many Stones fans to drive a lot of the south west USA sections as a holiday treat. A friend drove the Arizona to California section a few years ago and said it revealed a side of America he never knew could exist. Friendly folks in every town and courtesy from everyone.....he intends to drive the whole length of it from Chicago in two years time. The problem is finding the original route, as you know Dale, in many places its not marked anymore...shame Aha, the car culture is like the 'Fast and Furious' series of movies......thats a shame really. Most car clubs here in Britain have room and respect for American metal especially 1960's muscle cars, Pontiac GTO springs to mind and Chevy. I used to own a lovely black Pontiac Trans Am back in the late 1970's when I worked in Israel, price of gas there was through the roof, but I loved driving that car north from Tel Aviv to Haifa on the coast highway, blue sea on my left, hot sun above my head mmmmmm memories The only Japanese car I have ever had time for is a 4x4 Nissan Skyline mid 90's model, its a Playstation on wheels and with the right software on a laptop you can programme the vehicle to your personal taste...yeah baby ;D Yep, pimping a ride is well known here....I think....well I watch Xzibit hosting 'Pimp My Ride' on MTV and I love the cars that West Coast Custom produce for the show, I've been a fan of the show for the last two years. Nope, I have not seen the VW ads, must keep the peepers open for that.......but I'm a big Mel Blanc fan, what a great artist....hey...and Jack Benny too...used to see him on The London Palladium Show whenever he was in Britain back in the 1950's and 60's....class act...so deadpan. ;D I thought you worked commercial radio, good for you on PBS, I believe the standards are higher and you go for a quality product because you are close to your audience. Would you say its lefty? Perhaps you have to be more open minded because your sponsors are more aware than the average bear (Boo Boo) so they expect a more intense service. Push buttons......so you produce and drive the desk too huh? That can be the most thankless job in broadcasting especially if the person mike side thinks they are a superstar, boy, can they make life hard. I'm a fan of 1960's US AM radio stations and I have loads of airchecks from that period, especially if they were Drake format or 'Boss' radio. KHJ springs to mind especially 1964 to 66, oh, and KFWB, I have a couple of their PAMS jingle packages from the mid 60's. Thats the reason I went into radio, just loved the energy Dale and the fun, which has all gone now. Its computers and concepts.... and very sterile....I'm sure a PBS station still takes risks and generates some controversy If you get stuck for a presenter give me a shout, I self op and do production too, even been known to carry out maintainance on a 50kW Continental Electronics rig on a pirate radio ship, but I draw the line at climbing the mast. Been trying to get my foot in the door at Star 102.7 in Las Vegas as an airtime salesman but, they don't seem to think I'm serious. When I turned up on their doorstep it was a weekend, unlike our commercials, they skeleton staff Saturday/Sunday....ah well...next time. God Dale, you are lucky that Quarks is just down the 15, if I lived in your neighbourhood I'd be in Quarks twice a month at least Take care mi amigo, thanks for checking with Creation, brewski's on me when we meet, Live Long (hic) and Prosper

SO? got any news chops? Looking to relocate?
On other topics: In Rancho Cucamonga Route 66 is called Foothill Boulevard. In Pasadena it's called Colorado Boulevard. I live on one and work on the other!
My first ride @ 16 was a stock '68 Mustang. Used to take it high speed down the 2 freeway, up an uphill offramp to get some air, shoot through the intersection like Steve McQueen, then back down the onramp and onto the freeway again. Drove that beast 'til the tranny died on me... in the end all that was left was reverse! Today I drive a Hybrid Toyota Prius that gets great (yawn) gas milage. At $2.76 US per gallon, we think gas prices are high here... spolied yanks, eh?
93 KHJ... I remember music there, and the day they flipped the format to FM. I was busy being a baby in the mid 60s. Now it's all right-wing talk. KFWB is all news all the time with traffic on the 1s. The Real Don Steele was my hero as a child. Gary Owens... Machine Gun Kelly. Commercial radio here is completely sterilized now. I am also familiar with automation systems, in fact my stacked playlist is running on our ENCO automation system as I type. I don't work here anymore, really... I just babysit the computer that works here.
Just some random thoughts.

In the event you actually DO apply... don't tell them you know me. Seriously. I am not your best reference. I work off hours because I am not terribly popular with many of the staff due to the fact I was kind of a jerk for the first year or so after they took me off the air. Took it hard and turned mean and cynical, so now I'm shifted nights and weekends where I do very little but babysit the computer. So you are warned.

Now that is Synergy....whoa...Spooky So a news vacancy has appeared, now that is very interesting....I notice the job notice does not mention FCC tickets or similar, would my 25+ years as a journeyman broadcaster be sufficient? If it is, I might apply for the hell of it, they might go for a neutral accent (sorry Dale, I don't sound English) and I'm warm on the mike. Thanks for posting that Dale, that is appreciated. Did your airwork consist of news presentation only or did you airshift in an entertainment/news role, like a mid-morning news prog with tunes and stuff. I figured you had airshift experience by the way you talk about your job, any chance of getting back behind the microphone? Minding the computer, whew Dale, British radio is full of that crap and everybody is buying music programming and they all sound the same. Even my favourite Dutch radio station which plays 60's hits has gone 'PC' programme computer, and plays the same tunes at the same time as British oldies stations The last radio company I owned and operated never used automation, it was coming in at the time, we actually had a Carousel in the studio in case a jock fell ill, never got used. I operated an FM mono C&W outlet using a TM Productions country package, an FM Stereo running Rock and Power Pop with 3 60's classics every hour, and the best jingle package ever, 'Airworks' from TM,with a few Jam productions sent to me by WLS Chicago. The AM ran the FM audio with local programmes in the afternoon and weekends. We allowed the air shift guys about 5 free choice cuts per hour as long as they were in tune with the station sound. It meant the sound, hour by hour was consistent, but the songs were very varied, sounded really fresh. On the weekend, I was the host of a 6 hour morning show, 'Solid Gold Sunday' filled with audio memories from the past, tunes, tv themes and speeches, all knitted together with classic PAMS jingles. Ah, the good old days, slip cue and mercury switches, the mixer with big rotary pots and huge VU meters...now its slide faders and light bars ;D I get the odd airshift on radio stations that rent time on the big ex-Communist AM and short wave TX's in Czechland, Latvia and Estonia, pushing out as much 500kW. The nice thing about 'Geronimo' for example is that the studio is NAB carts, turntables and we self op, playing vinyl, but the style is so Haight-Ashbury 1967 that I only get gigs when they are really stuck ;D I play their kind of music but I up the tempo and go for much more music and play more than one jingle per hour. The hairy ones do not approve as they pass the wacky baccy cylinders around, and roll their eyes to heaven ;D Gary Owens, my man, he sounded sooooo good Dale, such a voice and so good at makng everything sound easy. He's still on the air I believe on the eastern seaboard, I saw an article about him in 'Radio Report' recently. The Real Don Steele, I must have more airchex of him and Morgan in The Morning than any other broadcaster with Don Imus and Bruce Morrow coming in close behind. I know an American web site that sells airchex of Don Steele, must have 600 hours plus of the guy for sale, including......here's synergy.....the 1965 shows when The Real Don Steele was giving away brand new Mustangs.....the earlier variant of your first car Shame you don't have the Mustang now, but your gas is cheap....I drive a mini pick-up or my 3.5 ton panel van which is diesel. The diesel here comes in at £4.90 a gallon, must be nearly $8.30, so I have disengaged the turbo and adjusted the mixture so the truck burns the fuel slower. The mini pick-up is gas which is a little cheaper, but the engine is so frisky it drinks the fuel at a terrifying rate, so I walk or use the mountain bike, driving is left for long distances now. I guess you guys are spoilt, but our high prices are due to high taxes built into the price at the refineries, and the minumum fare on a bus is £1 for a quarter mile, or to the next bus stop, of travel. I love the idea that you live and work, technically, on the same road. Forget driving Dale, just get a land yacht, hoist the sail and off you go....well ..you don.t need steering so save more cash and garage the car just for Vegas trips Keep sending the random thoughts Dale, its refreshing to get an insight into a different way of life. If you ever need anything from Britain, or London in particular, just let me know. I'll try and dig out some airwork and see if its good enough for that job you have shown me. Peace.

We're really hogging the board talking radio, but what the hell... Back before the turn of the century (I do love saying that) KPCC 89.3 FM was run by the college where our studios are located. I came in in 1997 after completing a couple years classes as a weekend board operator - the only part of the job for which I've ever been paid. I volunteered to do newscasts for four hours a day M-F with 120 seconds at :04 and another 90 at :33:30, both tacked onto the end of the network newscasts. We had a split format back then which was news/talk all day and AAA music at night, and I also did a two-hour weekly dj shift on Thursdays, first midnight-2, then 10-midnight. In 2000 Minnesota Public Radio bid for and got our station from the college on a zillion-year lease (college retains the license) and formed Southern California Public Radio to run the show. We dropped the music on their orders and soon after I was dropped as a newscaster. They wanted real radio journalists with bachelor's degrees or better, and though I'd spent much of the '80s as a newspaper reporter, that didn't cut it in their book. SO back to the board I went and here I remain. On the upside I make more than double what I used to back when KPCC was young and free. I also get to boast that I was a jock and a newscaster in Los Angeles, the second largest radio market in this country. One night Jed the Fish (a luminary DJ here in LA on KROQ) stopped by the station to say how much he was enjoying my show in his car... that was cool. Once my wife met a woman on one of her birdwatching expeditions who listened to the station and when she told her she was married to me, the woman revealed that HER husband did imitations of my self-intro at the top of each newscast. "It's three-oh-four in the KPCC newsroom... I'm Dale Hoppert." That's the extent of my fame, but it did actually happen and I cling to those precious memories I think I could get back on the air SOMEWHERE in America, but not in LA, and anyway as we've previously discussed, DJing is a dying profession as all formats are automated and exported for mass consumption in multiple cities. I used to get to pick my own tracks from a prescribed rotation of albums and tempos with two completely free picks per hour. THOSE were the days. I miss it, but am content to be overpaid and underworked. Seriously. Most nights I watch a lot of TV and await my relief. Virtually everything is pre-recorded and played from the automation system. On saturdays in particular I push the button once and then sit here for four hours making sure the computer behaves. When I started as a newspaper reporter we used typewriters and paste-up was still practiced with hot wax and actual paper. When I learned radio we still used reels, cart machines and even occasionally spun vinyl. In each job I've had to cope with multiple technology jumps. Guess thats what comes of being born on the cusp between a wave of baby boomers and the gen-xers who followed them (I popped out in 1965). OK, 'nuf Ced.

Thanks Dale for that great background on KPCC and the board work , don't worry about us hogging the board with radio jive, a lot of the members are into all sorts of technology and communication so they probably enjoy it Most of my broadcast life Dale was spent on radio ships using American manufactured equipment and production beds. Back in the 1970's for example, Caroline used old 1960's Spotmaster NAB cart machines for the jingles and commercials, an old Gates Studioette Mixer was used for air work, even though it is strictly speaking a production mixer, and when the Gates turntables died we press ganged a pair of Garrard 301 transcription decks for air work. We always used PAMS of Dallas productions, they were the cream of sung jingles, we used all the classic jingles. All of this was pumped out from the high seas to Europe with a Continental Electronics 50,000 watt AM transmitter, we had a Continental 10,000 for standby and all power was from MAN generators. By the time I got to the Middle East in the 1970's and 80's the radio ship 'Peace' was using 2 Collins 25,000 watt AM rigs linked with a combiner and later a 25,000 Harris FM was installed in the hold too. The studio was a mixer of Gates Diplomat Mixer and Gates and Harris kit. By the time I owned and operated my own radio company in the 1980's and everybody was buying Japanese I went for American kit, Gates Turntables with chunky Gray Research tone arms and Shure cartridges, commercials and jingles ran off Harris NAB machines and Sony cassette machines. I bought TM Productions jingles with some JAM idents as well, and I always went for a playlist that gave the air staff a wide degree of own choice. Made us number one in the region. You are right, the fact you have been an airshift personality in LA gives you wide scope to work on most radio stations in the USA and, may I say, the world. Hey Dale, its funny how radio and tv folks like us are so absorbed with Trek don't you think? I have yet to meet a media person who dislikes Star Trek. Probably to do with the line of work and how we see the world for what it is, then we clean up the news for broadcast so the public get an easy insight into life. I agree with you regarding listeners, it is kinda fun when they rib you about your show or the unique way you do things, thats why the audience pick some shows over others.....its cool when they can 'do' your opening link...thats when you know you have arrived. Regarding new technology in radio, I hate using PC's and stuff, it kills the flow and allows automation, at least you are coming to terms with it. Radio Caroline still uses a lot of vinyl and cart machines from the ship, but I believe the land based studios are more modern. At least they programme themselves still, so thats a blessing. Have a good airshift and don't work too hard...as we used to say on offshore radio....Calm Seas Dale..and Big Skywave (only good on AM)

He has now moved Lodge to a bigger online facility and we can enjoy his photos of his famous friends at: www.heresotter.co.uk/ ____________________________________________________________ Starfleet Type Ship Mentioned on the Notice Board, we received two images of a Starfleet type vessel which is not on official records but we reproduce the two images for your appreciation. Thank you to the contributor.
The NX-4718 number indicates a prototype or research vessel, but wonderful images nonetheless. ____________________________________________________________Las Vegas Trip The plans are now firmed up and a number of The Posse and friends will be attending the 40th Star Trek Anniversary at The Hilton, the guest list is huge and Jolene Blalock has confirmed her attendance to this fabulous event in our favourite city. But, when you are not at the Convention and you are chilling out in your room and you want to hear a good radio station check out KSTJ, known as Star 102.7. The Morning Show is really good with star guests, phone ins and the very best in 1980's music. I always listen to Mike and Beth in the morning, I find it starts my Vegas day the right way, and through the day and night, Star is a consistently entertaining radio service. I know, I spent my first trip to the city sorting out the wheat from the chaff and Star 102.7 is the only game in town when it comes to entertainment radio. Leave your radio on during the night while you cat nap and listen to the music and phone-ins, from all over the US south west. I recall a trucker, Barbara, hauling out of Flagstaff to Los Angeles, phoning in for a song and a word whilst crossing into California from Nevada, Star 102.7 was the only thing on the dial. Enjoy your Trek adventure in Las Vegas and remember your radio friend...Star, One O Two Point Seven FM. The Experience A reader has recently returned from the city and she has sent us some really good photos of the Experience in the Hilton. Yes, I know you have seen loads of shots, but these are especially good, well lit and very clear. The first image is of the entrance with Quarks Bar in the background. The next image is a very clear portrait of the USS Voyager, detail is superb. Finally, Enterprise and Voyager with lights on, this is a hard shot to try for, I failed many times. Thats a taster of what to expect when you arrive at The Experience and dive into Quarks for a Warp Core Breach or a Mind Meld. ____________________________________________________________ Voice of Peace A number of Forum members enquired about the Voice of Peace radio station so a picture tells the story. The studio is on board the ship directly beneath the broadcast mast, note the tall mast to the rear of the vessel, with the AM and FM transmitters in a room behind the studios.
If you are curious or have questions reach us at our usual address. ____________________________________________________________Posse Pictures A couple of great pictures, turned up in the office last month, so I reproduce them here. First up, Majel Roddenberry with Graham and Sue at a Convention in England. Majel is known to many of us as the 'voice' of the computer and she is the wife of the late Gene Roddenberry, special pic. Finally, a picture with our good friend and Posse funster Piemuncher, he sends the best email jokes in the world, collecting from all over the globe and supplying them to us. This photo is from The Black Horse and shows, left to right, Anubis, Piemuncher and Sue enjoying one of our reunions ________________________________________________________ Thats it for this newsletter, if you want more news and updates or you wish to meet up with other readers and Posse Members just head off the Big Hairy Kevs Message Boards and select Warp Core Preach. Easiest way to get there is via Google, enter Warp Core Preach and select the BHK or big hairy kev address. Enjoy Collectormania 9 and lets hope more stars confirm. Peace and Long Life.

Good ish... and I say again that the NX designation on the Anubis is due to the fact that it IS an experiment... to see if a ship and crew can still function in 'fleet tradition with a "...Forward" lounge on EVERY deck...

Good ish... and I say again that the NX designation on the Anubis is due to the fact that it IS an experiment... to see if a ship and crew can still function in 'fleet tradition with a "...Forward" lounge on EVERY deck... Or, how to earn your sea legs after enjoying tens of Ten Forwards on the Black Horse sponsored USS Anubis. USS( Unlimited Supplies of Spirits)Anubis, all beverages to be no weaker than Fullers London Porter 5.4abv or Fullers ESB 5.7abv. Take away brew should be Newcastle Brown Ale (used to be sold in Quarks Las Vegas as Obsidian Dark at $4.50) as its only 4.7abv. Official Ships beverage is ice cold Smirnoff Blue Label Export at 50abv , with the Official mixer, ice cold Seven Up, no ice as its frozen water and no one is going to dilute my drinks. Am I on the right track Dale??? I'll have to field test the beverages, need your help mate ;D

Piemuncher has asked for a bit of a story on the recent 'Radio Day' in Amsterdam, so I'll try and jot something down soon and send it to you. I'm presently very busy completing radio and online interviews, and I have had a number of television gigs. One appearance, on Channel 2 Israel, has put me in touch with my daughter Sarit, a fact that will please many of you as I have always hoped to meet her and see how she is. She is a fascinating woman and its early days yet, but we have made a great start in our relationship , now that is a story. I also had the opportunity of renewing a good friendship with a woman who was a very powerful influence on my life, sadly, through a simple misunderstanding, we parted . However, we are back in contact thanks to Channel 2 Israel, and we are rebuilding a relationship and a friendship ;D so I am facing a more wonderful future than I had before and you guys know I was optimistic already Meantime, if any of you wish to see the Peace Ship we have a couple of pictures on Page 3 of this thread, so check it out. I'm starting the Father Christmas gig again from Friday, so I'll try and get a Warp Core Preach out before then, with the story that Piemuncher wants to hear, fingers crossed ;D Peace

I'm starting the Father Christmas gig again from Friday, so I'll try and get a Warp Core Preach out before then, with the story that Piemuncher wants to hear, fingers crossed ;D Peace I have a free day this Saturday, even Father Christmas requires a break , so, I will prepare and mail a Warp Core Preach special to all our old subscribers, and you will have the full story of Amsterdam, it is interesting, I think. If we are fortunate, Daxmaryrussel might post it for the whole community , but, The Great Maker has been very kind to me, and using worldwide television resources he presented my image in over 30 cities worldwide including LA, Sydney, Vancouver, Tel Aviv and Durban to create the environment to meet my long lost daughter Sarit. I will post her image, so those of you who know my loss will understand my joy at finding a lovely child after so many years . Yes, she is a grown, and a very accomplished woman, but it is so good to meet your child after so many years, and I want to share with her my wonderful friends from this superb Message Board, the home of the Posse, granted to us by Kev and Susie, blessings from the Great Maker. ;D For those who care, I promise I will keep you posted, and a special Warp Core Preach will be in your mailbox shortly . Live Long and Prosper, A

Buck Rogers to X Files, all are on his site, all on DVD and the pricing has to be seen to be believed. The Black Horse pub will be a very special place to be this Christmas and I hope to see a number of you there, Cheers. Special Greetings to BHK, our Kev has been a good friend to The Posse and we are approaching our second Christmas as guests on the message board, without which we might have strayed and faltered. Our home on the board has enabled our Las Vegas founded group an opportunity to prosper, lets hope we live long too, so Kev, here's to you good friend, we will all sink a few large ones for you this year. __________________________________________________________________________________ Convention News. BritainLet me take a peek at Collectormania 11, from Friday 4th May 2007 to Monday 7th May 2007 at The Centre in Milton Keynes. Admission is free and the list of guests is already very interesting. From Stargate Michael Shanks, from Buffy/Angel James Masters. Star Trek provides Avery Brooks from DS9 and Anthony Montgomery from Enterprise, most of you will want to meet Avery and I'm assured he will turn up and is looking forward to his trip to England. I hope he never finds out that Milton Keynes is in the middle of nowhere. Brent Spiner will be at the London Film and Comic Con on September 8th at Earls Court, no further details yet, but I will post updates on our message board once I get confirms. The upcoming Creation Star Trek 40 in London next month is proving to be an interesting convention, Barbara Luna will be attending on all three days, and Patrick Stewart is the star of the show, get along if you can. I spoke to Leticia at Creation in Pasadena and she assures me that if you want a Gold Ticket, just turn up early on the Friday and Creation will take cash for a ticket, its about £300. The Gold gives you total access to all areas on all days, and as Don, Dax and Brian were keen to hear the outcome of my initial contact to Creation they will pleased with that answer. I'll see you there. ___________________________________________________________________________ Amsterdam Radio DayPiemuncher was keen to hear about the Radio Day that Anubis attended and I promised to provide a bit of the story here. The Radio Day is an annual event and is arranged by the Dutch Broadcast Industry with a feature for each event, this year it was The Voice of Peace, and Anubis was invited to attend and participate due to his long service with the station. The event was very interesting, lots of media folk from Europe, North America and the Middle East attended and Anubis found himself the target of much interest from journalists and tv reporters, so it was a change to be on the receiving end of media attention instead of dishing it out. The discussion found Anubis creating controversy as usual, upsetting the fans who like their Peace radio to be all airy fairy, our man plumbed for overt commercialism to generate wads of cash to help the poor, this raised a few howls of protest, but, never one to resist pouring oil on troubled waters, he stuck to his guns. A recording of the round table discussions can be found at www.offshore-radio.de/ which is the Offshore Radio site based in Germany. I met many old friends and enjoyed a serious beer session with good friends from all over the globe and then 45 of us trooped into a huge Chinese restaurant and had a superb meal prepared by a very hard working and professional team of chefs. In the hotel later, I met many fine folk from Germany and Belgium who were participating in Carnival and I met Prinz Eddie from Blankenbourg and some Carnivallers from Dusseldorf who were in Amsterdam for a drinking session. Needless to say, ex-Caroline, Voice of Peace and Radio Luxemburg deejays can take on the best, and so another session ensued with the radio boys still standing at 5.30am having drunk all before us and leaving the Carnivallers pole axed. One hour later, on a plane back to London and not an inkling of a hangover, that Dutch air is very good for one. Here is a photo of Anubis in full flow promoting good commercial radio and sorting out the hecklers. _____________________________________________________________________________ Radio Day. Aftermath. The real fun started after Radio Day for Anubis as he suddenly discovered that the tv reporters had put together a newsreel which was shown on a number of stations around the world, this generated a huge amount of contact with people from his past. A nice surprise was hearing from an old friend, Tali, who was able to use the tv interview to try a Google search and she found Anubis via his on air name and contact was established. Needless to say, an ongoing and an online chatty friendship has ensued and is a lot of fun. Old friends from the past have also been in contact and Anubis is spending many hours catching up with his past exploits, serve him right. At this point I'll finish off the report, because apart from old friends catching up with me, and its great to be in contact with Tali again, another fabulous thing happened Posse. Many of you ask me about my family, things like that, and many of you know how hard it has been for me to answer your questions, sociable as they are, with any clarity. My daughter Sarit was out of my reach and not in contact, well, no more, because she was able to finally locate me through the tv newsreel. I was speechless (no jokes you lot, I sometimes get speechless for about 30 seconds) and shocked, happy and elated, you know the feelings, total confusion. Anyway, we spoke on the phone for the first time and it was a wonderful conversation, no recriminations or hostility, just two people eager to learn about the other and accepting that our parting was beyond our control. Here is a photo of my daughter Sarit
So we talked for ages, compared notes on our lives and the common factors, and I discovered a young woman who is very well balanced and totally in control. I was very proud of the way she has built her life and the values that she holds dear. A mother, Sarit has three lovely children and is married to a really good guy, Marcel, a strong marriage and the whole family have just moved from Los Angeles to Israel. Sarit is a chip off the old block in one sense, she loves Las Vegas just as we all do and it is possible that in the future on one of our jaunts to Vegas she may yet join us and give us the tour, but in the meantime, I'm making plans to go and see her early in the New Year. A lot of you have already shared in my happiness at finding Sarit and you all keep having a dig at my new found grandfather status (you rotten sods) but I'm still going to party like its 1999, so no chance for me to start wearing slippers. I'll keep you posted as to ongoing developments with my daughter and her family, but, I gotta say, this is one swell Christmas present for a guy to get.__________________________________________________________________________ Radio Caroline Interview One spin-off from the Radio Day is an interview I gave to the German Offshore Radio enthusiasts about my time on Radio Caroline. The interview is very interesting, insofar as it throws a light upon a relatively unknown period in Radio Carolines life allowing me to clarify many rumours and legends. The interview was meant to be 'live' at the Radio Day but I was out of contact and the organisers could not reach me. If you are interested, go to www.offshore-radio.de/ and click on 'Don Stevens. Radio Caroline Interview'. You can also use this link to see the photos of the Radio Day, once on the site, click on 'Radio Day' tag and check out the various files.___________________________________________________________________________ In Closing It has been a fun filled year for us all, Dax has been over to see us from Gothenburg at least ten times, that has been fun. Don has upgraded his car again, Kev and SusieG had a great time in Las Vegas, as did Monica (hi kid) from Salt Lake who had a weekend there, but missed the rest of us. Brittney and John send loads of love to us all, they are settling into their new home in Fort Lauderdale (Johns parents are staying over for a while). Dale is still twiddling the knobs at KPRC in Pasadena (easy dude) and we might get to meet him in Vegas this year, Don and I think it might be a groove. My daughter is in my life (how cool is that) and I still keep winning the Lottery on average 35 times a year, but only 3 numbers, sometimes 4, but if I get the jackpot Posse, we'll rent a 747 and take over The Tropicana for a week and really DO LAS VEGAS......er...and that is a promise.:-) I hope we all prosper in 2007, I hope to meet some of you at The Star Trek Convention in London in two weeks time, or at Collectormania 11. We intend to arrange a meeting at The Dam Busters pub to remember the brave pilots of Bomber Command who did so much to preserve freedom, and this will be a Spring time gig, I'll try to tie things up with Kev,Piemuncher,Don and Brian on this. My new business venture is taking off (no pun intended, its Heathrow based) and bookings for January are excellent, so, maybe 2007 will be a good year for us all. Try and get to the message board, the Warp Core Preach is a special production, all our interaction now takes place at the web site. Google 'Warp Core Preach' on the International Google, and select the entries referring to BHK, Big Hairy Kev Message Boards and Warp Core Preach and you should be taken straight to the board. Save it to Favourites and you can join in all the items or post your own topics. All news should be sent to Anubis at the usual address, or post it yourself at Warp Core Preach online. Live Long And Prosper, Peace and Long Life.

Live Long And Prosper, Peace and Long Life.
You folks are so kind and full of Christmas spirit (and jokes too ) but the fact is that I was taken totally by surprise by Sarit and her re-discovery of her old Dad, Don Stevens. In answer to your questions, it appears that Don Stevens as a name was withheld from her, she was told about Cy Smith, my legal birth name, so her family kept her in the dark, even when she was a LISTENER to my Breakfast Show on The Voice of Peace. The child was unaware that she was listening to her Dad whilst getting ready for kindergarten, and to really annoy me, she recalls meeting a women attired in Western fashion telling her that she knew her Father and who she was. The unknown woman I know, suffice to say that she was full of such low class tricks. Right to answer your questions, the Radio Newsletter article that pre-dates Warp Core Preach with the news is 'Hans Knots International Radio Report' and for those who did not save it the link is www.hansknot.com/ and check out the newsletter 'December 2nd edition 2006' so you can go to that site and save it now to your files. Clearly, I was unaware that you guys are so net active, but it is only fair to create our own page on the subject, and many thanks to Dax for investing the time and effort to bring the Newsletter, once again, to the Message Board. Without Dax, the regular readers to the Board would never see the newsletter you still receive, even though it was meant to stop back in early 2006. The Newsletter may have to continue as an event publication just to ensure we all maintain contact, but, please try and stay on board. Peace, A

Peace, A Thanks for the link - the page looks really good now (and of course the content is very good too), I didn't know it had had such a great overhaul. Nice that your radio convention turned out so brilliantly. I think it would be great if you could continue to warp core preach. Maybe only do it when you have the time - no pressure or anything Looking forward to 2007 dax
