Not to worry, Anubis! Thanks for thinking about me. I understood you had stuff going on, sorry to hear about your staff and company - understand it cannot be easy. Actually I'm in London at the moment for my course and can agree that Nevada is probably much warmer than both London and Gothenburg. talk soon daxmaryrussel Having to release your workforce is always a hard thing to do - at any time - but especially in the approach to Christmas England IS a bit chilly at the moment - but it looks like worse weather is to come Anyway - on a lighter note - will we be seeing either Anubis or Dax in Birmingham at the weekend? www.memorabilia.co.uk

About Memorabilia - thanks for asking, would have been very nice to see you guys but I'm sorry I can't make it due to time restraints. But do say hello to all the Red Dwarf gang for me ;D - seriously great that they all will be there (note to self: must buy DVD series VII ) Have a great time there and please tell us all about it! I appreciate your comments of support Dax and Kev....love to be in Brum but too many things to sort out I'm giving my staff the vehicles they have driven and maintained as a severance package......I firmly believe they will be able to use these assets to provide for their families, they were really pleased with me for doing this.....God, I felt like crap (doggie doo doo)...I would have done far more for them, great folks, never demurred....I'm consoling myself with a bottle of premium Vodka....makes the pain easier to withstand. I could go to Memorabilia.....but i need to make sure all of my staff are a-ok.......even though I'm shutting the business down, I am very concerned for the team, i need to be available to drive out to Essex to smooth things out. On a lighter note, went to an agency today looking for a job....any job.....and because I have not got a checkable work record (self employed) and because I could not give them at least 5 years of reference (self employed) I could not get a gig as a cleaner Read it and weep.....I was just after a gig to raise some beer vouchers for Christmas ( I have savings) and help me with some spending money to treat my friends. I am unemployable as I am not a part of the Governments computer system. Hello!!!!! 1984 anybody? Bloody PC Nazis, almost as bad as the Enviro Facsists. Lord knows, when folks employ me they never regret it, I love to be a part of the solution. Anyway, I still have my health and things are not too bad......never let the buggers get you down....and once I have ensured all my team's families are sweet then I will look after myself. Live long and Prosper mi amigoes. PS. How cheap are Paramount......just saw a movie tonight called 'Patch Adams' from 1998 using the theme song of 'Enterprise' as its closing theme! Did Paramount launch 'Enterprise' as a deliberate loss leader? In my trade, using an existing theme for a show indicates cost cutting from the beginning.......if true....what chance did 'Enterprise' stand? ?? Sorry folks, I do tend to see the bad in everything.....humans are such useless creatures and it is easy to apportion problems to them......after all.....they are so good at creating them Live Long and Prosper. ;D ;D ;D

Sorry I missed you Dax whilst in London..........don't be afraid to call or contact me.......I'm always here to support folks. Next time......call........... Thanks A! I knew you were busy and I'm busy too so Yes but I'm still here Talked to Sam at the pub yesterday and she missed you. I met Brian who seems ok but he's also looking for a job. I'm here for my course and staying at Don's - all Sunday there is this workshop I'm attending (to learn how to write essays, which I really need to learn, I get writers block all the time). Anyhow might be down the pub today if I recover from yesterday (waaay to much wine) I'll send you a text if we'll be there - would be nice to see you. Glad your workers' families seem to be ok - do take care of yourself too and be glad you didn't get the cleaning job... And do register at Big Brother's computer daxmaryrussel

Further to my disparaging remarks about Paramount and 'Enterprise' and its use of second hand theme tunes, I now discover (with secret pleasure "ooh you are awful") that Paramount have sold the entire 7 Season Voyager series to Channel 5, the UK terrestial national network, on the basis that it is broadcast as a New Season. ;D Clearly, this is true, it is new to Channel 5, and...oh boy..are they getting behind it.....full promotion....network support. I'm pleased because it was Captain Janeway who brought me back to Sci-fi....and therefore to this forum. Without her, I would never have reached this site.....so I cheer her on.....and with C5 promoting the series so enthusiastically I anticipate a further lift in Star Trek interest in Britain. Recent surveys indicate that C5 has attracted the most interesting audience profile over the last 18 months in Britain. apart from being the 'Home' of CSI (all series) and Law & Order (all series) which in itself has attracted a highly intelligent, very enquiring audience, they have also managed to appeal to intellectuals with the 'Weapons of Warfare' and the recent martial arts season. I anticipate that the mainstream placement of 'Voyager' on a Saturday as the intro show for the CSI and Law & Order schedule may attract a whole new group of fans. Let us welcome them and share their fresh enthusiasm for the series.....we established fans must be wary of 'spilling the beans' for these new fans. Yes mi amigoes, I am biased, but I have always felt that BBC 2 never treasured 'Voyager' and showed it little respect.......Sunday evening at 6pm was never going to attract a big following.....and Satellite stations in Germany showed that if it was shown at a later time slot.....it could attract an audience, and commercial support......absolutely vital for commercial broadcasters today. Channel Five, with its European connections, has clearly decided to launch my favourite Trek as a 'New Series'....or as they say...A New Season of Star Trek...at an adult time period and a part of the already hugely successful 'American Crime Season'. what a great deal for Paramount.....and for C5. Is it only me that is confused that Paramount seem to promote Star Trek (all series) more thoroughly in Britain than anywhere else in the world. We had the Adventure in London back in 2003, our own Official Magazine, and our DVD releases always contain MORE extra's than in other territories (including the USA)...you don't suppose Paramount has a huge British investoment or investor? ? Suits me sir. Anyway, thank The Great Maker that Channel Five is showing an interest in Sci-Fi.....its been a crime based network for so long......done that genre no harm. Now that C5 is turning its gaze on Sci-Fi (thank The Maker, every other network is dropping it) it is very possible they may start to show other shows we never had an opportunity of viewing (Firefly) just to bolster there new expansion into a new field. I watch 2006 with great interest on Channel Five. LLAP

Well, well, Channel Five are really setting out to be a 'home' for Sci-Fi After my comments last week regarding the welcome return of Voyager, and in a serious time slot, about time too, Channel Five have now decided to re-run the whole of 'Dark Angel' starting with the Pilot this Monday at midnight. Seems they intend to run all two seasons, maybe they are attempting to be the home of re-run SF......suits me if they do. ;D Now, maybe they will dig out other series for re-run.....old and new..... Babylon Five??,I'll be supporting them in this endeavour Peace and Long Life Strange to see Voyager with commercial breaks ;D

Anubis' webmaster here publishing latest warp core preach WARP CORE PREACH 7th December 2005. No.9. __________________________ USS Endeavour NCC-71805 Ships Notice Board Today we spare a thought for the 3000 plus US sailors of the US Navy Pacific Fleet, based in Oahu, Hawaii who perished on Sunday morning at 8.25am 7th December 1941 during a surprise attack by an Imperial Navy Carrier Task Force of the Japanese Empire. This event marked the beginning of the end of World War 2, the USA declared war on Germany and Japan and Britain finally had a friend after 2 and half years of fighting Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy alone. All crew are requested to take time out to remember. _____________________________________________________________ Welcome To Number 9 Another WCP to surprise you, and very near Christmas too, so Merry Christmas one and all. I hope you are checking out the Warp Core Preach message board, I see that Anita is very active....nice one Dax. This Saturday, 10th December 2005, a number of Posse members are gathering at The Black Horse for a pre-Christmas drink, Stuart started the ball rolling and he will be coming down with Chris and maybe Dom and few others. Graham, Sue, Don and Brian will be present too, so it should be a nice get together, hope to see some, or all of you then. ___________________________________________________Patrick Stewart. One Man Show I have just had the pleasure of listening to an interview on The Sandi Toksvig Show from LBC 97.3 here in London with Patrick Stewart, recorded part of it, really interesting session. Patrick was answering questions about his new one man show at The Albery Theatre in London, he stepped in at the last moment after the previous production cancelled suddenly. Patrick is performing his adapted version of Charles Dickens 'A Christmas Carol' playing all the parts from serious to light hearted. The production previously spent three seasons in New York and ran at The Old Vic in London in 1993, the season which saw Patrick winning an Olivier for Best Entertainment. The show opens tonight and runs to just before Christmas. I attach a review, which gives you a better picture of the production.
Further details, if you want them, should be available at Google if you enter 'Patrick Stewart.Albery' and you should get a whole passle of detail. __________________________________________________________________________The Experience Las Vegas Big things planned by Paramount Parks for the New Year, including the expansion of Quarks Bar into a two storey venue and other developments. See the info sent to me, or, pop over to The Experience site for a full breakdown on the new developments, looks like 2006 may be a reason to go to Vegas and celebrate 40 years of Star Trek.I'm not sure if I can plan ahead for this, loads of hassle with the business, but I am going to treat it as an incentive for me to work harder and get my butt over to Vegas sometime this year. If you are keen to check out the Experience, go to the message board and start a dialogue. __________________________________________________________________________________Pretty Pictures Time Finally got a bit of time to sort out some images from the Carribean Night at the Black Horse, sadly the camera was dieing (it is now dead) due to a blow it received whilst being transported. I have a selection of images here for your delectation and pleasure.....see if you can spot yourself, or a friend. static.flickr.com/34/71291982_0dcf56876e.jpg[/img]A couple of shots from the early part of the Carribean night, this group dived in early to raid the cellar of London Porter.......happy bunch. BHK with his posse and Jenny who is Otter's Keeper. This is the calm before the storm. The gang are still at table, but The Horse is filling up, the Steel Band played superbly. Fran and Len with Anita, probably discussing how they missed Anita when they were in Gothenburg. Don, Sue, Graham, Anita and other friends inside the Horse on Carribean night Note, Otter is getting into Anita's good books. Otter still trying to blag a free trip to Sweden from Anita, persistant little blighter. Three dodgy characters, especially the bearded geezers, lots to hide no doubt. For the record, BHK, Anubis and Brian. Anita joins Big Hairy Kev and Brian for a beer inside The Horse.Cheers. Stuart and his group turned up from Coventry and had a really good night. Stuart enjoyed it so much he has arranged another get-together this weekend at The Black Horse, we'll try and get pics. Sarita and Big Hairy Kev had a chance to chat, BHK was able to persuade Sarita that London Porter was a foul drink and she should stick to wine, crafty feller, wants it all for himself, ha ha. The evening was winding down and I got this beautiful shot of two of our friends relaxing The next day Brian was playing with this loaf of bread, don't know why, I was still nursing a hangover as the two cups of coffee on the table testify. We all relaxed and agreed the night before was a success. Finally, it was time for Bella and myself to make the journey home. Bella is a big fan of Anita so they had a chance to say 'cheerio' until next time. No, the dog is not trying to read the paper. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Finally Have a Merry Christmas, see you on the message board and enjoy the season. I've closed my business and signed up with an agent........the first gig he has got me..........playing Father Christmas in department stores all over the south east of England ha ha..what a hoot. Money is good though. So, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and I hope to see some or all of you over the Christmas and New Year, well, I will be at the Black Horse for sure ( no, not in my Santa suit) so I'll be happy to buy you a beverage, so see you soon. A new WCP in January.

Great work Dax Number 9 WCP looks good, you have done a swell job. I will have to drop the blue colour, it looks good on the newsletter but disappears once it is on the message board. In the New Year we will issue a larger photo rich WCP with all the photos from the Xmas and New Year parties, and even though my digicam has failed, I still have the Minolta 35mm and that takes excellent pictures, so I'll deploy it this weekend. Hope you have a great Christmas and New Year Dax, look forward to seeing you soon. I'll be down the Black Horse a fair bit, got the Santa gig so thats enough beer vouchers for the Christmas and saves my savings ;D Once again, good work on Warp Core Preach Number 9, looks good, lets hope WCP Number 1 in 2006 looks as good

Thanks Anubis. I agree the blue looks better on the newsletter, but I don't think it looks too bad here on the board. However, I will change it - only probs then is which colour to choose. It might be pink Actually, I tried most of the colours and not all of them are so good/legible at the message board. Bear in mind also, that there are two different kinds of blue background here on the board, every other time it is darkblue and light blue... BHK, need advise here... which colours do you find work best? Modified a bit later: I decided on "Beige" which seems to be a comfortable and clear to read kind of white ;D Hope that works for you guys!/daxLooking forward to the big photo extensive WPC next year. Unfortunately I will miss both the Black Horse Christmas party this Saturday and the New Year's Party On a happier note though, I'll be in London a couple of days over Christmas, and I will certainly make my way to the Horse! Will let you know. Would love to meet you and the whole gang. All the best and Merry Christmas! dax Great work Dax Number 9 WCP looks good, you have done a swell job. Dax Don't worry too much about the blue, I thought it was caused by myself, but if you are using a slightly darker blue then no problems Make sure you do let me know when you are in town, I'd like to buy you loads of drink and get you merry and cheerful, you have been a great help to me this last year. I'm busy right up until Christmas Eve with the Santa Claus gig, but then I'm free to consume huge amounts of London Porter thereafter I notice Don has not received his Preach, seems I no longer have his email address, his copy has just been returned. Love your Christmas banner, really FAB.

So format here is sorted I checked the WPC email you sent out and the address there to Don was the correct one, not sure why it didn't get through I'm certain Don has seen WPC here on the message board though so he should be alright. I wish you good luck with Santa gig - and looking forward to that beer. Christmas Eve will be spent in the company of Patrick Stewart, going to see A Christmas Carol. And thank you Jenny for the link to X-mas banners daxmaryrussel

The latest warp core preach WARP CORE PREACH 3rd March 2006. No.10. __________________________ USS Endeavour NCC-71805 Ships Notice Board Welcome to Number 10 A lot of space has passed beneath the hull of the ship since the last Warp Core Preach, hopefully, you are all keeping in touch by reading the postings on the site at BHK. Some of you, myself included, have been very distracted this year and have been unable to participate as much as last year. In my case, I hope to be more active from now on despite the calls on my time. In this Warp, a few photos from the Autumn and Winter which have just arrived here, so I'll share them with you, plus Anubis as Father Christmas pics which have also appeared here....finally. ____________________________________________Andreas Katsulas Andreas Katsulas, one of Hollywoods journeymen actors with many credits to his name dating back to the 1960's passed away on February 13th 2006. He had been suffering from lung cancer for a while and his passing is viewed by family and friends as a blessing. Andreas is warmly remembered by all Babylon 5 fans as the wonderful character G'Kar of Narn. ____________________________________________ Claudia Christian Holly informs me that Claudia has finally moved all her bits and bobs and furniture to the UK and is settling down on this side of the Atlantic for a while, good news for us as she may make more regular appearances on our screens here in Britain and at conventions. Nice to balance bad news with good.
Claudia on Broken News. ______________________________Convention News Collectormania 9 is almost upon us at Milton Keynes Fri 28th April to Monday 1st May 2006. Admission Free and, as usual, loads of guests and traders. My interest is Mira Furlan (Delenn B5) and Pat Tallman (Lyta B5) and Diana Muldaur (Dr Pulaski) and I know some of you are after Lance Henriksen's signature. These four plus a host of others will be in attendance, look forward to meeting you all. London Expo 27th and 28th May is a real Star Trek Fest, held in Docklands, London this is a show that tends more to Manga and anime but still books great guests from the world of sci-fi, and this year is no exception. Pavel Chekhov, Tom Paris, Chakotay, Voyagers Doctor and Neelix make up the Starfleet contingent with other guests to be announced. If I can get Lyta's signature at Collectormania on a Lyta/Bester photo I'll make sure that Walter countersigns at this gig. Admission is £7, hope to see you all there. London Film at Earls Court 2 London is on from 1st July to 2nd July 2006 and is a bit of a thrillfest if you are a Stargate fan. Torri Higginson (Dr Weir) and Rachel Luttrell (Teyla) from Stargate Atlantis are signing as is Don S. Davis (General Hammond) plus Hurley and Shannon from LOST will be attending. If you attended GMex recently and got the Stargate sigs there then you may find this event of interest. If any of you attended GMex let us know what you thought of it, first time in Manchester for Showtime. If we get further details on conventions we will despatch an update. ___________________________________________Las Vegas Monica Ashton wrote to say that she had a wonderful time recently in Vegas but missed us all in Quarks Bar, but she said her friends whom she brought to the city to introduce them to Star Trek. The Experience had a fabulous time and began to understand the pleasure Monica gets from Trek. she met Vaughn Armstrong who encouraged her to continue her music playing, saying that retirement is the best time to indulge your passions. Monica is still in Salt Lake City and invites her friends to get back in touch now her service is back on, hogheadashton@yahoo.com especially members of The Posse. A number of our friends are heading out to Vegas for August and the 40th Trek celebrations including Anita, Big Hairy Kev and SusieG so if you are heading off to Nevada you will be in good company. I hope to be in Las Vegas for September, just after Labor Day when the city is quite and the weather is at its best, and I plan to hang around for about 2 weeks. Any of you guys who are still in the area will find me at Quarks Bar or at The Luxor in the evenings with Bennie and all the Mexicans at the Margarita Bar....drinking gallons of Negra Modelo...arriba! If you want to find out about trip plans for Las Vegas then go to the Warp Core Preach site at BHK and check out the dialogue. ___________________________________________Photo Time A couple of piccies turned up, courtesy of Laura, from the Caribbean Night, so I figure we should print them here. First up, Anita, Anubis and neighbours enjoying the night. Tony 2 Dogs and Trish were enjoying the night, the happy couple looking wonderful. A week or so later, Laura, using her new super duper Olympus camera with 8 mega whatsits of watchmacallit caught a picture of contrasts. Left to right, yours truly and Oily, the best mechanic in the neighbourhood who seems to have got out the wrong side of bed. Just before Christmas some of the Posse gathered in The Black Horse for a get together and our roving camera was present, Laura got a swell shot of Steve Redman and Brian. Stuart Allenby met Sarita and Graham and Sue Tucker turned up for the night, Laughing Pete with the white hair is visible too. During January I had the good fortune to meet Len & Fran on one of my weekend walkabouts with Bella, who loves these two, they feed her treats, and with a camera handy we got a few shots. Lovely Winter's day, bright sunshine with a cold crispy edge to the air, beautiful. Finally, as some of you may know, I spent December appearing at various Shopping Malls as Father Christmas, probably the best paid job in the world. Part of the performance was to be in a Grotto at Guildford and Watford in a poorly tailored suit, but, the best gig was at Hammersmith in a Victorian style costume and walking about the Mall handing out chocolates to all. Check out the piccies. The Victorian Father Christmas costume, really nice. Below are two of my helpers, a little Elf with HUGE shoes, and the Christmas Tree Fairy who captivated the children. Finally, a photo from Guildford with my wonderful helper Faye who was great fun and kept the whole show on the road solving loads of little problems, her costume is kewl too. Yes, that is the Gingerbread Man on the Grotto door. That completes the Father Christmas gallery, submitted in response to many requests to see them from a whole bunch of you blighters, enjoy them my friends. Look forward to meeting up at the various events this year or in Las Vegas. If you wish to keep up with the goss, don't forget you should go to our Message Board and join in the fun. Peace and Long Life.

Once again Dax you show yourself to be the best team player Thank You for your hard work in reproducing Warp Core 10 It is a wonderful thing to do as it enables readers of the basic (without photo) version of Preach to see the images, they can download or get copies from the office. I know that some of our hotmail subscribers in the States and Australia appreciate it, I'll buy you a few good drinks on their behalf when next we meet. Good work Dax. Aha.........Piemuncher!!!!! Ayup our kid! Glad you wrote Piemuncher, I hope Lutz does make it over, he'll scare the bejasus out of everybody at Milton Keynes.....he tells me his appearance is a cross between Medusa and a Klingon .....mmmm, he told me that Lutz is a variant of Lucifer in German Just got a couple of photos through for the next Warp Core Preach, couple of good ones of yourself, myself and Sue Tucker in the Horse, plus another of you and I also in the Horse. I'll burn them to a cd for you, with the other shots, and you can have them in June. I'm sure a lot of the Posse will turn up at the Black Horse, especially if we are going to be there knocking back a few strong cold ones, and I'm looking forward to seeing you at Milton Keynes. Love your new Fire Engine, right little beauty, you going to drive it down to the Black Horse? ;D We could fill it with Porter and go for a picnic ;D

Hullo global friends and neighbors!
I will now stand still for a moment to allow you to throw cold chips and soggy bar napkins at me for having made myself so scarce hereabouts the past couple of seasons... shame on me. I do, however, continue to suck air and excrete things, so all evidence suggests I am alive.
It's been a busy time. My wife took a job at the far end of Southern California and we finally decided to move house to split the commute... so I now reside in a city called Rancho Cucamonga (kook-uh-mung-gah... sounds Klingon, doesn't it?) which is located in what is called the Inland Empire (more Klingon) and by several miles puts me OUT of Los Angeles! This is a good thing! The neighborhood is rather white-trashy which means lots of oversized pickup trucks and motorcycles with intentionally loud exhausts, but the people are friendly and the population density is down as compared to my old digs. This is a city that's still growing up as opposed to the one I left which had reached max pop and was starting to seriously decay. I see fewer empty crack cocaine packets on the streets then ever before. The view of a snow-covered Mount Baldy from my balcony is brilliant!
I am also now a mere 3-hour drive from Quark's! So I'll be popping in there more than just annually, most likely. It's been more than a year since my last visit, when I got falling down, left my wallet on the bar, had to be carried back to my room, and alienated Lydia the barmistress to the point I couldn't get served the next night. I have a couple souvenier photos of myself in the Captain's chair and Borg regen chamber both of which feature a big knock on my noggin sustained when I fell on the stairs leading up out of the promenade... I was beyond drunk and well into poisoned at that point. I shouldn't drink alone as I suffer from a serious deficiency when it comes to STOPPING.
Televisual news: Have watched a couple episodes of the new Dr. Who recently and enjoyed the whimsy... was struck by how "Douglas Adams" the first couple episodes rang... I know he wrote for the show back in the day. The second episode in particular "End of the World" just screamed "Restaurant at the End of the Universe." DS9 on Spike TV is just about to wrap up the Dominion War (again), and TNG is in it's first season again so I'm letting it alone for now... painful to see how rough things were back then before they got their legs under them. About to start accepting seasons 3 & 4 of Enterprise via my Netflix subscription, so it'll be nice to steep myself in that for a bit, and my wife mentioned the other day that she hardly recalls Voyager, so perhaps we'll add that to the queue soon. Still, there's a sense of melancholy attached to knowing that ALL there is are reruns to watch. We get TNG on two channels over here (Spike and G4), and the afforementioned G4 is about to undertake broadcast of TOS in a format called "Trek 2.0" Basically, they'll run the eps in a frame which will include a live chat window at the bottom, a running tally of Trek events like "Phasers Fired, " "Vulcan Salute" and "Kirk Romances Alien Woman" to the right, and something called a "Spock Market Ticker" to the left... the conciet is that you buy virtual stock in the characters based on your knowledge of TOS... say you buy JTK then watch it go up when he gets some alien lovin, but watch it plummet when he's forced to sacrfice Edith Keeler or is doubted for obsessing about vampire clouds. Presumably there will be virtual prestige to be had, or perhaps fabulous prizes to be won. The whole things kicks off April 10... I'll let you know how it tastes once I've had some.
Well, that's about all from this quarter. I sincerely doubt I'll make the Vegas con in August, but if any of you Euros decide to make the trek to SoCal while you're on this end of the world, DO let me know. As for you, Anubis, I'll be pleased to raise a few with you at Quark's if you do indeed make it over this September, so keep me on the mailing list. You are one cowpoke I'd be honored to buy a few drinks, "Brokeback Mountain" notwithstanding.
One last thought: have you seen "V for Vendetta?" From what I can tell, it's set in your country, but is really all about what's happening in mine. As always - apologies for being American...
Dale

Whoa Dale Brokeback what!? ahhhh, the happy chappy movie, waste of time and money, got no time for the fellers dude, its just me and the horse, once she is stabled then I look for the lady ;D It was a poor performer at British box offices, Chicken Little did 4 times the business in its first week then BB did in 8 weeks ;D Great to hear from you and glad to see you moved up to near the old San Berdoo and Fontana neighbourhood, used to be the stomping ground of HAMC Chapters before they all joined together as Hells Angels California. Now heres a thing, I still have an old Jan & Dean tune 'The Anaheim, Asuza and Cucamonga Book Review and Timing Association' one of my favourite surf/hot rods tracks, and now you live there. Do they still indulge in custom cars in the city and the area? If I get near to SoCal I will come and see you for sure and see a place I have known about for years and sample the atmosphere. Yep, V for Vendetta is set in Britain and it reflect exactly the way things are going here in Britain thanks to our champagne Marxist, politically correct EnviroNazi government. Tony Blair is even forcing through an 'Enabling Act' (well thats what Adolf Hitler called it when he passed the same act to destroy democracy in Germany) so he can control everything without reference to people and parliament. The citizens here are doing nothing to stop it, but the producer of V was aware enough to see the way things are heading here, so it was easy to write the story. Our newspapers and television are full of none news and Blair has carried on with his graft and payola, I hope it is not like that Stateside. At the moment Dale its 'all systems go' for my September trip to Vegas, I have a slight potential problem as the neighbourhood I live in is due for an upgrade of major service, gas lines and electric cables to be upgraded in line with Euro law. The work was due to start this week, now its put back to July, but a neighbour of mine was told by a surveyor it looks like August so I'm a bit pissed with the Utilities. I need to get to Vegas for my fix of the greatest city in the world, and the most unAmerican. The only North American city where you can smoke in public (I'm a non smoker) carry open beer bottles without wrappers, and, if you don't wander too far from The Strip, see loads of people walking on sidewalks ;D Talking of Voyager, we have it re-running here on Sky and also on Channel 5 a terrestrial station with very few ad spots so its a nice view in the weekday afternoons. They broadcast two shows per afternoon. Love to hear your view of G4 and its Trek 2.0 service, sounds like something that may appear here on our birds. Glad you are back online after all this time, we were a bit concerned about your welfare and with The Experience message board offline I had no way of checking to see how you were. But, alls well, and you seem to be happy with the view of the mountains, is that the San Gabriel range?....its just a name that came to mind. Are you near I 15 then Dale?, you said its 3 hour drive to Las Vegas and San Berdoo, if memory serves, is on I 10 which I know crosses I 15 in that general area. Sorry my local knowledge of your new home 20 is so poor, it gives me a good excuse to come and check it out ;D Love the Inland Empire tag, kewl, when do you think its going to declare independence? We would never throw bar mats or chips, soggy or otherwise at you Dale, its a relief to hear from you again and you sound really content in your new home. Have you got a job, your wife clearly has so have you managed to find something to your taste? Hey Dale, while you are here, we have a lot of rumours flying around that The Experience is closing in April. You are on the ground as our Western Hemisphere Ambassador so you are in the ideal location to check with Paramount in LA or Vegas if the rumours are true. It would be appreciated as a contingent of The Posse are heading out for the 40th Anniversary Con in August and they are clearly anxious, much obliged Dale. You have made my day re-surfacing Mi Amigo, glad you are alive, beers are on this old cowpoke when we finally meet up. Poor Lydia, she may yet bar the both of us, or set Churoc on to us ;D

Cy: answers to inquiries
1. Have the same old job monkeying the buttons at a public radio station in Pasadena, forty miles west. Public radio is listener-financed which means we have to get on the air and beg for funds a couple times a year. The audience and thus our programming tend to be quite lefty.
2. You've got your targeting computer correctly set... am within a few miles of the 10/15 intersect, so if you use a big enough yield you should be able to wipe us off the map. One freeway, straight-line drive to Vegas.
3. "Anaheim, Azusa and Cucamonga" was a gag voiced by Mel Blanc (Bugs Bunny et al) on the old Jack Benny radio show circa 1930-something. It was meant to be a rail line (which never existed) for which he called "all aboard"and the gag was that Blanc would pause longer and longer each week between Kook and Amunga. The audience apparently ate it up (a more innocent time).
4. Car culture is still big here though "classic" these days has been reinterpreted by young Asian and Hispanic kids to mean souped up 90s Hondas with nitro systems and far too much fiberglass... and of course the dreaded subwoofers. "Pimped" is the term. Have you got those splendid VW commercials wherein Peter Stormare (The lonely cosmonaut from "Armageddon" currently seen in Fox's "Prison Break" series) "unpimps" cars in anticipation of introduing their new GTI? Roll-on-the-floor funny. Do a google on "vw unpimp" and you'll link up to worthy video. There are still crusie nights and classic American cars but the drivers have all basically crossed the geezer line... as have we...
5. Jan and Dean: I work in Pasadena (where the legendary little old lady resided) and now live in Cucamonga... how's that for syngergy? What's more, that fat divided road outside my apartment complex is the legendary Route 66 whereupon kicks are to be had. Also Dick Dale was a legendary surf guitarist and people tell me, Dale, that I'm a bit of a dick sometimes. Synergy City.
Be well!

I will attempt to track down your ugly rumor regarding ST:TE closing down. Last I'd heard they were EXPANDING with a second level to Quarks for private parties and events... also an April closure would really put a chill on the big Vegas Star Trek convention in August. I too worry about that place but lately all the news I'd heard was encouraging...
