You may certainly do that. Please feel free to set your own schedule of appointments with crew as needed or requested and if you have a chance look into everything we have on Romulan as well as Reman negotiating tactics and look through our cultural information to identify anything that I should avoid saying or doing while I'm dealing with them or anything I should watch for that may tip me off to what they may be thinking. Be prepared to be by my side through much if not all of the negotiations, if there are any since I'm really not sure what I can expect yet. Once we reach the absolute border, we will wait for furthur instructions as to meeting with any ship they may send or even going into the Nuetral Zone to meet with a representative. Our ETA to the Nuetral Zone is 2 days. We may be delayed by furthur stops to pick up crew. I think that pretty much brings you up to date, so you are free to make yourself comfortable.

Incoming Message for Admiral Janeway - delayed due to a ion storm in sector 4...
"Captain Hurt,
We have received communications from the Romulans indicating that they are interested in meeting with a representative from the Federation to discuss the prospect of an alliance between our people. We were, at first, going to send Picard and the Enterprise, however they are on an important medical mission and cannot be diverted at this time. The Romulans have agreed to meet with you. Unfortunately we do not know any more than that. You are authorized to begin negotiations and offer any humanitarian aid they may need. You will report to Command as soon as you have any information on what the Romulans terms will be.
We believe the incident with Enterprise and the Remans has brought this about, and we feel this is the perfect opportunity to create a more peacefull coexistance with the Romulans.
Good Luck!"

::Looks up::
"Peculiar...is one word for it. Polite word. Feel free to say downright Strange. I did." ::chuckles::
"What we know is pretty much nothing new. I'd like to find someway of finding out what's going on. And I think we may have an inside source, if we can find a way to contact him. I'm going to call in a few favors, and hope subspace communications is fast enough to get me what I need."
::Turning towards the Comm station::
"Ensign, send a message to Captain Picard on the Enterprise. Arrange a time when he can take a few minutes to conference with me privately."
::Turns back to 'Tass::
"I'll be in my Ready Room, if you need me. You have the Bridge, Commander."
::Stands up to head to the Ready Room::

"Yes, Commander....Comline open, the new Captains chair includes the highest tech directional microphone and speaker, so you can speak in any direction, and the speaker is placed so only the person sitting there can hear the response. Hit the blinking button there, when you are ready."
I turned back to my console, wondering when the Captain would come back out and tell us what the heck was in that message, if she ever would.

::As I entered the Bridge I went around the outside of the command center, looking at the various station displays, checking the ship's general wellbeing, seeing more green lights then red, I felt somewhat better about waiting. I could see that 'Tass was using the chairs new com system, so I waited at the Bridge Engineering station for her to finish, then headed down towards her.::

::Turning to the Captain:: Yes ma'am, I have the reports back from the department heads, there seems to be alot of tension building in the crew, I thought that I would get ahold of the The Ship's Councilor and get her take on it, see if there are any signs of crew fracture, or stress related psyche problems. And if there is what we can do about it that we are not doing at the moment.

::Seeing this as the perfect time I replied...::
"Actually, Commander, I was thinking of calling an informal meeting of the Dept. Heads in the Aft Conf. Lounge at 1700 hours, just to fill everyone in on whats happening so far and perhaps do a little brainstorming. So it looks like perfect timing for it. Please have one of the Ensigns from R&R staff replicate a couple of pots of coffee and stay on hand at the meeting, in case anyone needs anything else. I'll be in my Quarters if you need me. I'll see you at the meeting."
::As I turn away, I remember...::
"Oh, and since we don't have a CMO yet, just have the new Ensign from Sickbay come to the meeting, and of course our Counselor."

The computer softly chimed to let the Captain know that she had 15 minutes to get ready for the meeting. She was as ready as she would ever be, considering....
She got up from her desk, straightened her shirt, brushed off her pants, and went to the little 'fresher unit in the corner of the Ready Room. She checked her appearance, and, satisfied, headed for the door.
Walking out onto the Bridge, her mind beleagured with strategy should things go awry with the plan, she didn't notice anything odd about the bridge, or the current bridge staff. It was only after she had almost made it to the conference lounge on the other side of the bridge, she began to realize she wasn't hearing any voices. The normal conversation that takes place on a Starship Bridge when all is calm, was missing. She turned, looked around the room, and began to understand why. The crew were....frozen? It was as if they had just stopped in mid-motion, whatever task they were doing was interrupted by the fact the officer performing it was now stock still!
She hit her combadge "Bridge to Sickbay!" She said loudly, and waiting a few seconds, hit it again "Bridge to Security?!" she said even more loudly. With no response, she went to main Comm station, excused herself to the frozen Ensign Brickly, and hit the "Shipwide" command.
"All Shipboard Crew and personell, This is the Captain. If you are able to hear this, please report to the Bridge at once. " and the computer bleeped as she hit the off command.
In case no one replied soon, she set up an automatic forward so the computer would send any replies straight to her commbadge, so she could check the rest of the crew. Grabbing a tricorder and a phaser from a utility compartment hidden under the Captains Chair, she headed to the 'lift.

*enters the Bridge via the turbo-lift which is also playing up, pushes the doors wider forcibly and drags in two envirosuit cases and two weapons cases*
"Medical Ensign Watson Steele reporting to the bridge sir. As you are already aware, I had called for a Security team to be sent to the Counselors office after noticing a strange orb exit the hull. I did a quick check of first aid on Counsellor Treallus that revealed she was breathing but statue-like and unconscious.
I then oddly found myself in the holodeck, which was breaking in and out of program with no outgoing comms. On hearing your repeat message I headed for the nearest com station hitting the keypad to let you know I was on my way here.
As you can see I also took your advice, stopping at locker 14 on Deck C to get us two environ suits. I also took the liberty of retrieving two plasma rifles from the munitions lockers on Deck C".
*puts everything down and stands awaiting her orders and further information on the strange goings on and also seeming lack of other crew members aboard*
