I voted for the first one,It really gives you a feel of how menacing and powerful the Predators are as a species.I did like the second one but it just seemed that they made the Predator a little too easy.

You know what spoils "Predator 2" ? The sex scene at the start - IT'S AN ACTION / HORROR MOVIE - and therefore doesn't need it in there. Apart from that - Danny Glover did a great job of following on from Arnie - which was a monumental task in itself. Also - we get to see the throwing blade - way cool ;D

BHK,
I enjoy both films, but PREDATOR 2™ gives me a greater sense of high stakes conflict, since the police are not professional mercenary soldiers whose job it is to kill if they do not wish to be killed.
The scene wherein the pregnant copper is scanned, then spared because she is pregnant, touched me quite deeply, since it is not often that we see the Antagonist presented as having a Code of Ethics about what he does.
I did not have any problem with the sex scene in this film or in any other, since the desire to reproduce is commensurate with any warzone or set of mortally threatening circumstances.

MX....You think that the Predator was an antagonist because the prego copper was spared,it was not pitty that spared the lass,it seems to me that the Predator's live for the hunt and kill with purpose, she was weak not worth it,he had better things to tend to.roger and out!

Welcome to the domain!
No, I think the PREDATOR™ is the Antagonist because he’s hunting & killing Homo sapiens, then mutilating our corpses for trophies.
I neither stated nor implied that “pity...spared the lass”.
I understand intellectually why you called the pregnant policewoman “weak”, but so far as I’m concerned, any woman who can wield a pistol effectively is a viable threat – especially when she points it @ me!

MX....let me start again {yes the pretator is the antagonist..of couse]but when you mentioned that the pretator scaned the copper woman that you were moved .I assumed that you felt pity at that moment in relation to the scene.....but a code of ethics, I'm not sure about that.He saw that she was bearing child,he spared her...why ,why thats the question.I think he spared her because the predator with all those crazy sences of there's saw the child as a real potental future trophy when the child matures. The hunt and the trophy seems the whole of there law.

Now this is a difficult one. The first is better in terms of movie making, but the second has lots of details I like. The movie for example reveals a little bit more of the Predator mythology. However, I have to go for the first one.
"You're one ugly motherf****r!"
Arnold looked so funny when saying this ;D

I went with the first movie. Maybe it is because it is our first sight of the Predator, I dont know. The sequel I have only viewed the once so maybe a further look is now appropriate> I can understand MX's statement in relation to the sparing of the pregnant officer, I have to agree with his premis of some form of code of ethics which I think is shown in the new movie AvP. Feeling pity and being moved by a scene are two seperate emotions. I think the scene shows the Predator as more than a killing machine as the first movie seemed to portray. They seem to be driven by the hunt but it seems even they have certain conditions to the hunt ie they prey have to be worthy. The officer in my opinion was not seen as weak by the predator but as a creature bearing the next generation of a species. Maybe they hold child bearing females (of any species) in reverence. Only seeing a species within certain situations does not allow for deeper meaning for their actions to be accuratley wiewed dreamcatcher
