Now I know this was just a one off story but do you think eddings will write any more books based in this world as it has alot of potential, more i think than the dreamers series which seems a bit simple compared to his previous works?

From what I have read so far in Althalus it is ripe and perfectly set for at least a trio. Why this was made as a stand alone I do not understand it is one of the best works in Fantasy that has been set out in a long time

The redemption of Althalus:The Review Well it has taken me a few*months* longer than I would have liked to completely read through this book(not having the time made me re start more than once-lol) The things I liked, The use of Althalus, to go from a country bumpkin thief,to a well civilized high ranking Priest at first you would think no way in heck would that happen, but it happens so slowly that you don't even realise it is happening, You could almost imagine that this was a model for the Gods of The belgariad-kind of a how they came about--just written at a later date. I liked the interplay between all of the characters, Especially with Eliar,Andine, and Leitha,Bheid. It had a great premise, just got bogged down a bit in the middle, not as detailed as some of Eddings' other books, but about the same in terms of adventure By the end I felt just as sorry for Ghend as Althalus did. The things I didn't like, I think it might have worked better for me as a reader had it been broken up into at least 2 books, I think that way You could have gotten in all the detail, and more of the interplay between the characters, but The last word is that this book works and it works well. I give it 4 out 5 a definate must read, I just wish that more stuff could be done, probably not with all the same characters as that would be a little hard(because of the ending) but It could be done as The redemption of Althalus the next Generation(or something along those lines) As Em would say, You done good You done REAL good, Mr Eddings

Been reading this book now for a few weeks, and I'm enjoying it...although it does remind me a bit of his other works. It's good and I'm racing through it!!
