Star wars magnets- a new type?
I have come across, as a consignment, 38 magnets. These were made by Trends International, in Canada in 1999, as far as I can tell from the one site that listed 6. The 6 are Jar Jar, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Star Battle, Dart Maul, Queen Amidala, and Anakin Skywalker. I see 2 distinct types, which differ in packaging colours, stapling, and actual design of the magnets. One type has a label that is predominantly red, with black rays; no frame around the magnet, no copyright information on the magnet, and the back says, in French and English; GREAT FOR: HOME OFFICE SCHOOL/ BIEN POUR: MAISON OFFICE ECOLE and is stapled vertically with 2 staples. The other type has the colours reversed on the label- black label with red rays, frame around the magnet, CLFL & TM. at the bottom right of each magnet, and no writing on the back of the label, except the manufacturing information, which is the same in both cases. The second type has one staple, horizontal, or slanted. I have seen Jar Jar, Ob-Wan Kenobi, and star ships battle in the first variation, and Darth Maul, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Star battle, Queen Amidala, and Anakin Skywalker in the second variation. The first 2 have a white or white and black frame, while the last 3 have a gold frame.
Does anyone have any ideas of the values of these types?
Are they known to anyone?
If you are interested, they will be on ebay this week. The site is

You may visit to see what they look like. I have been able to find only one listing of these as a type, and no mention of varieties.
