As I plough through the Battlestar box set I wonder what is there to compete with the mark it’s set?
Caprica…I have to say I’ve been disappointed with this, could all be because BSG was so good. I did like the episode in ‘V’ world, an idea almost along the lines of the Matrix. But it’s not grabbed me.
Stargate: Universe…was annoyed at the very long break, but I quite like this. It’s set in space, on an ship, it’s sci-fi. Hopefully meeting aliens it will get even better.
V…just watched the first 2 episodes of this, it was ok, but it’s set on Earth, it’s been done before.
Doctor Who…I do really like this show, but please, please, please stop coming back to Earth, or having Earth in Space, or back in time to Earth. Before they went to different planets, the Doctor had ‘alien’ assistances. Do something new and different. What’s happening next week, back to Earth for a WW2 episode!!
Loads of Re-runs, can seem to get a Star Trek or Stargate (SG1/Atlantis) almost anytime, but seen them so many times before.
I want a Sci-fi show set in space, what else is there out there?

There isn't much on at the moment.
See if you can find a mini series called "The Lost Room". not set in space (modern day earth actually but i enjoyed it).
Caprica , V2009, Starate Universe have all been let downs. I agree the virtual world sections of caprica were quite well done,

I will keep an eye out for this Lost Room.
I think I read somewhere that the BBC are currently filming a new 8 part sci-fi show about colonising a new planet somewhere. Has anyone heard anything about that?

cheers. sounds promising (apart from hermione norris - hated her in spooks). can't put faces to many of the names, I'll have to look them all up.

I've not watched spooks, so the only one I know is the guy from BSG.

Can anyone think of some older sci-fi that might be worth a watch? Quite liked watching Tin Man on sci-fi. Had a quick look on amazon, saw something called The Triangle, anyone seen that? Or Odyssey 5??

hmm i replied to this some time ago, and the post isn't here now. Odyssey 5 - I enjoyed it - wasn't it cancelled though? I'm currently watching a show from New Zealand called "This is Not My Life". quite good so far. www.epguides.com/ThisIsNotMyLife/"A man searches desperately for answers after awaking one morning in an idyllic futuristic suburb with no memory of the family around him, how he got there, or who he is. " A little bit "The Prisoner" and "Stepford Wives" and "Westworld".

Things going missing for no good reason...sounds like it could be a new plot for a really bad show!!
yes, Odyssey 5 was cancelled.
This is Not My Life...hmmm sounds interesting, I'll have to keep my eye out for it to appear on tv. I am enjoying 'new' Leverage. and liked the first season of Human Taget. Well what I could find to watch of it.

Though short lived but I liked it, Terra Nova was on fox. Now on NBC a new series started call Revolution and its not bad either. Haven on syfy is pretty good to. And coming in April on Syfy is a new show set in my home town, St. Louis, called Defiance and saw some previews and it didn't look bad either. Falling skies is good to on tnt. wish there was a couple more sci fi shows on tv but it seems the main networks like more cop shows than anything. there are a few comedy shows i do watch but i have been a big sci fi fan since i was a kid from the 60s. most of these show and older ones you can watch here. watchseries.eu i use it a lot to watch some of the old shows from the 60s. some might be there that your looking for including odyssey 5

Ah yes, I have watched the first few eps of Defiance and Revolution, think I'll carry on. Also have been enjoying Arrow. Been dissipointed by Doctor Who recently as well. Looking forward to DT's return.
