Well...the kids roadshow now becomes clear... you have to be under 5 to be able to bear to watch.
New theme - not really liking but would probably grow on me
Matt Smith - the manic ramblings and running - so annoying
Karen Gillan - new companion - sorry I know we share a surname but act (she cant) get the kid back she was waaay better and didnt need a short skirt to hide a lack of acting ability.
Story - was expecting quite a lot - didnt get it and all the 'homages' just didnt save it My daughter who is not a fan and is in her late teens even guessed the plot and commented that it should be shown in the after school childres hour
But on the bright side it seems I am in the minority here, most Who fans seem to love it and think Mr Smith is a great new Who - I actually dont have anything against Matt Smith, after all he is just interpreting the script and following the director.
Thank god for the off button and re runs of the better Who's

It was quite a let down, I agree with everything you said.

I agree with some of what you have said. Gonna give them a chance to do better the remainder of the season. As with every new Doctor it takes a bit to grow on you.
The story lines are getting a bit crappy to say the least. Seems they are relying more on special effects and CGI animations more than ever. And from some of the previews seems they are going to go back to tried and true enimies such as Cybermen and the Daleks. What ever happened to stuff like the Silurians and Sea Devils and such.
Yeah I know its a ramble but think hard and you can see the truth of it. Retread monsters. Monsters with very little or no kind of information on their background as to why or where they are from. The Doctor nearley always did explain to his companions why or what the monsters were, their weaknesses, downfalls and such. Guess I just miss the old days.
So much to ponder, gripe and complain about. Oh well keeping my fingers crossed.

Well it was better than I expected...mainly because my hopes were not high to begin with! Again I agree, they really seem to be marketing it to much younger audiance, I wish I knew why. Lucklie the Sci-fi channel were showing a few Tom Baker, Peter Davidson and Colin Baker eps over the Easter weekend, they were so much better!!

Hey did you happen to notice the "Crack" in the ships side as the Spacewhale "swam" by. Wonder if it has anything to do with the silence that is supposed to come.

Are the BBC dumbing down Doctor who?? Can they make these cracks any more obivious??? At least the Vote Saxon posters were hidden throughout all the eps and not focused right in the centre of the screen.
Also was it more or are these 'new' Daleks not as scary as the older ones. I quite liked the look of them in the cammo colour!
