...check out the british show "Afterlife" - on tv now... And now we have a Section for it - Enjoy Hmm, and nobody writes in it Now I've seen almost the full two series and I liked it very much. Even though I found the two main characters changing their personality back and forth a bit... There were only two series made? dax

I have to admit I've never seen it...or heard anything about it. What is it about? It's about "Paranormal" - which I normally do not like, but Afterlife is very well done and with good actors. (It seems like paranormal is popular now - less expensive to produce than "proper" scifi I suppose - and there are three shows which are similar) Afterlife is a sort of a British version of the American series "Medium" (strangely enough the lead character is called Alison in both series). 1. MediumPlot Outline: Suburban mum Alison Dubois (Patricia Arquette) attempts to balance family life with solving mysteries using her special gift. She can see dead people and can often hear the thoughts of those around her.2. AfterlifeAlison in Afterlife sees dead people, spirits who hang around in our world because of some unfinished business and she helps them cross over after resolving their issues. A sceptic, a psychology professor writes a book about Alison and interviews her as well as help her a bit... even though he thinks she has mental condition University lecturer Robert Bridge (Andrew Lincoln) becomes involved in a series of supernatural events surrounding medium Alison Mundy (Lesley Sharp) in this chilling TV series.3. Ghost WhispererThere is also the other American series on the same theme - the one with Jennifer Love Hewitt "Ghost Whisperer": "Plot Outline: A newlywed with the ability to communicate with the earthbound spirits of the recently deceased overcomes skepticism and doubt to help send their important messages to the living and allow the dead to pass on to the other side."I remember we had a discussion here in one of the other sections about Afterlife and then Kev created a new section. It's not until now I've got the time and the possibility to watch it (thanks Internet ) and I quite like it. It has.. well I better stop now, this is getting toooo long Let me know when you've seen it afterlife.itv.com/dax

Oh, I must admit I'm not a big fan of 'Paranormal' but I've not watched any of these for more than 30 seconds!! If I watch sci-fi I guess I want some space in it, maybe some ships, and aliens!! Do things like Lost come under the "sci-fi" banna?

They all sound very like Haunted that was on ITV3 starring Matthew Fox... he died and was resusitated, from then he could see dead people and they helped him solve crimes. Oh yeah, I remember that one. Sadly I only saw 3 or 4 episodes. Must see it again, sometimes I think. Oh I see now that they only made 13 episodes www.tv.com/haunted/show/7209/episode_listings.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=tabssh&tag=tabs;episodes Mmmathew Fox "Dead Men Do Tell Tales... Police detective Frank Taylor had his life turn upside down. His young son Kevin was kidnapped in the middle of the night, resulting in the crumbling of his marriage. Soon after, Frank quit the force to become a private detective, hoping to get leads that would help him find his son. While investigating the kidnapping of a young boy and his babysitter, Frank faces off against their abductor, the sinister Simon. During a shootout, Simon is killed and Frank is seriously injured. In hospital, Frank discovers he is being haunted by a random collection of ghosts. Continuing his work as a private investigator, Frank receives messages from beyond the grave from spirits of the deceased... Starring a pre- Lost Matthew Fox, Russell Hornsby and Lynn Collins, Haunted aired during the 2002-2003 season on UPN, but failed to find much of an audience, resulting in its cancellation after only seven episodes. " Happy New Year! dax
