Who's watching this new series on BBC1? I missed episode 2, but so far the pilot and the last episode haven't been too bad. Patricia Arquette seems a bit off-kilter in it, but then I suppose if you've been seeing dead people since you were small, you would be somewhat high on the odd scale Hi Silverhawk! What a coincidence. Just watching it now - or episode 6 rather which is already on here in the delta quadrant hrmmm Sweden ;D Patricia A is not my most favourite actor but I think she is better from episode 2 and onwards... (Might be that they changed her hair style slightly ... ) (Since Swedish is my best language - I'm not too sure what "off kilter" means ;D (slightly off?) and yeah in the first episode it sort of wanders between: it's like it's the first time she sees dead people and then she's acting like it's totally normal... Which it would be to her by now if she's seen them all her life. Could be interesting to see what happens when "she embraces her destiny totally"...) But it's definitely a show I will continue to watch. Let me know what you think of it when you've seen more. Anyone else seen it? BTW: will anyone watch "Ghost Whisperer"? First episode is tonight (in the US) and it's Jennifer Love Hewitt who stars... The premise seems slightly the same as for "Medium"... www.tv.com/ghost-whisperer/show/33483/summary.htmldaxmaryrussel --- Capt. Push: You follow me so far? Allison: I speak English and you do a passable job yourself, so yeah Medium - pilot episode

I haven't had a chance to watch any of the new season, but last season was good. They stretched it a bit in some episodes, but for the most part I was pleased with the usage of the paranormal and spiritual elements involved in the plotlines.

also checkout these similar shows "Afterlife", and "ghost whisperer" Must check on Afterlife - what's it about (more in detail). I've read about Ghost whisperer - seemed fairly interesting. Have you seen it? And what did you think? Best wishes daxmaryrussel p.s. www.tv.com is a reasonable good site for "all" tv shows (it used to be superb until they changed the graphic - then they changed the usability and not to the better with these endless page shifts, just like startrek.com. The spelling is appaling. I registered to change/add stuff but it is a real hazzle because before you can actually add to the value [oh my God I'm too much into biz talk these day ] you have to use the site alot... Anyhow, I just didn't get it ;D )

try www.epguides.comAfterlife is a 6 episode British show about a somewhat reluctant medium (she doesn't want to hear the voices/see the ghosts) , and her encounters with a skeptical psychology lecturer. Its a bit dark/depressing at times but quite good drama. It is being shown on uk tv now, though I obtained it a while ago. ghost whisperer is much like Medium - if you enjoyed Medium then you will like ghost whisperer. www.epguides.com/GhostWhisperer/As for Medium - I now have seen up to season 2 episode 3 and its as good as it was- these recent episodes , particularly episodes 2 and 3 were superb,

I have been enjoying both Medium and Afterlife but because of the tributes to the late and great Ronnie barker my video didn't catch the end of episode 5 (the one about the two boys running across the railway line. Please can someone tell me the ending, we got as far as Allison in the bookstore wondering if Ken Buckley (the author) was the twin who went missing. Please, Please help if you can.

Afterlife is much darker and focuses much more on the psychic seeing the dead as opposed to Medium where Alison sees things in dreams. Afterlife does not always have a happy ending either wheras Medium is much more 'easy watching'. I think both are brilliant in there own right.

This show is great. I admit it IS kinda cheesy, but I think the writing is sweet. And we need more "supernatural" themed shows on mainstream. Apparently, ghost whisperer has been picked up for 2006/7 season already in the states. So I am NOT the only person who stays home on Friday nights to watch this.

Its a great show James, its a bit hokey, but, like you, I love the concept ;D You know its an Award winning show too, never got a mention in the British Press for that, same with 'Top Gear' the motor show on BBC 2. It got a US Television Award, only British show to get one this year, no mention in the media. Medium is poorly served by the BBC, shoving it onto a late night slot on Tuesday with no promotion, Channel 5 would never have done that, why did the BBC bother buying it. I make a point of recording Medium and the two CSI shows on 5, and then enjoy them early Wednesday morning, total heaven.

James, further to my earlier comments about Medium I paid special attention to this weeks episode on BBC 1 to ascertain its special appeal to me I noticed that Rene Echavarria was still Executive Producer, a noted Star Trek contributor, and that this weeks episode was Directed by Robert Duncan McNeill all through the facilities of Paramount Productions. Concluding with the fact that Kelsey Grammer is known to enjoy Star Trek and is the permanent Executive Producer for the series and I suggest that maybe I'm discerning a 'Trek' flavour if you will to the show. Hey, its Food For Thought

I dunno - she's spot on for the role of housewife and mother of three- at least they didn't use some airhead bimbo The middle child always steals the show, but I like the guy who plays her husband the best.

I don't know what it is about Patricia Arquette, but she's still setting my teeth on edge The show itself is watchable, but I'd probably tune in more if she didn't have the lead role. I agree with you - there is something about Patricia I have problems with too. However, I've manage stick with it and she works in that role. Totally agree with you kobold, the middle child "Bridge" is *really* cut and fun. Every time I see her I go: Oh she is soo cute ;D dax
