on how this glorious event was given life
Last year at Galileo 7, an idea was hatched between J. G. Hertzler (General Martok) and Ralf Gebhart of the Khemorex Klinzhai. John later wrote to me and introduced me too Ralf about organising an even to Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Star Trek, John suggested an event for the fans by the fans, I suggested to both John & Ralf that the 19th August 2006 the birth date of Gene Roddenberry would be the ideal date, John has said that he would love to attend such an event and that he would contact other actors to see if they would also like to do the same. An idea for a name for this weekend of Honour would be ‘Hovmey Davan’ (‘Salute the Stars’), apart from other attractions the two main themes would be a Medieval Klingon type Banquette on the Saturday night and to end the weekend on the Sunday we are looking into organising a Fire Ship Ceremony permission permitting – a Viking type farewell to the IKC Rotarran - where a replica of Martok’s last Command will be set on fire and sent on it’s way to Sto-Vo-Kor. In the spirit of friendship between the many races of Trek, JG would like to send off the Rotarran in the vanguard of a fleet of Star Trek vessels, regardless of race or affiliation.
If permission is granted and you would like to participate in this event, clubs and organizations are invited to create a flammable replica of a suitable vessel to join the ‘Fire Fleet’. Vessels should be between 3 & 5 ft long and built from environmentally friendly materials (wood and paper are strongly recommended), ideally to be assembled on site. The vessels will be ignited alongside the Rotarran replica as its Honour Guard.
this event is still in the planning stage.....but its going to be huge if it come off.
J G. Hertzler (General Martok)
and
Vaughn Armstrong who holds the record for playing the most guest characters in all of Star Trek, having played nine different characters
are now linked to the Hovmey Davan’ convention and gives the convention their backing.. #
and will be guests at the event
what a start.check back for more updates
All guests appear subject to work commitments.
For the event to take place we need a good response from the fans
Do you have a skill that Hovmey Davan can use.
Every bit of help is wanted and needed.
