I didn't know where to put this, so I just put it in our clubs sections as it shows in the "last 10 posts" anyway. IS EVERYONE ALRIGHT? I know there are lots of Londoners on the Forum, and people based nearby who may have been in the Capital when this occurred. Please tell us that you're ok, or if you were nearby any of the bombings. EDITOR'S NOTE - merely edited title for clarity

I've been watching this on the news all day and wondering if anyone we know was caught up in it - it's not that long since Susieg and I were in London and some of the scenes on TV are of places I know quite well - like Edgeware Road where our Hotel was on two London visits - www.sky.com/skynews/home has up-to-date info on the events - My heart goes out to all those hit by the disaster

Yes, the whole thing is terrible. All these people hurt and dead. My heart goes out to them and everyone affected. The LOTNA group has been in constant contact all day by email and they are all alright too, as are my friends in London, and hopefully no one one this message board is hurt. I've been following the news updates via internet. There are news broadcasts all day on radio here in Sweden too - so far we haven't heard that any Swedes living/staying are hurt. (Apparently there are 40,000 Swedes living in London ) When I fly over, I usually get into Liverpool Street station by train from Stansted, so I'm glad nothing happed when I was last over, almost 2 weeks ago... Yes it's been a dark day for London - it shocks me when they show the aftermath of the explosions on TV and I think "I've walked along that road" - here's hoping London can return to normal as soon as possible !

Hello Kev All the Posse appear to have been in other parts of London except Sarita.......she works at the Daily Mirror in Docklands so she travels through the area. Her mobile has been busy all day......text just in 'Thanks sweetie, been off with a chest infection today' seems like Sarita got ill on the right day Brian is always in Hayes area, Don is near Golders Green during the day and most of the rest of our friends are out of London on business.....so I can now report all Posse members are ok, well some are still nursing hangovers from the Olympic celebration. Kev, have you had news from the new group that Geordie met, I think the pub they meet in is within the range of these terror attacks, can you get a clean bill of health from them.....they would concern me. Dax, if you read this entry you have a connection to the group that you and Geordie met in London. Could you check them out? Would appreciate it. I think a lot of people will be off work tomorrow, the authorities are asking people to only come in to work if they really have to, so a lot of pubs will be busy celebrating the Olympics again. Well, we have seen 30 years of bombs in London......but this is our first real Olympics, we won it, it was not thrown to us as a bone like the last two, so lets get down, and its one in the eye to little men who like to scare working folk who are defenceless. They don't scare us, even Hitler could not break this city, so a bunch of disciples to Onan are really not cutting the mustard. Anyway, I think our security services are already on their trail ;D The sooner a better future comes the better I like it. Lets us hope that the human race can get itself sorted soon, before it disappears up its own back door. Thanks Kev, we appreciate your interest in us and our city, and your consideration and support, A London Porter for you squire...later ;D

Hi Anubis, Yes, the LOTNA group are all OK. We've been in contact all day via our mailing list and everyone sure looked out for each other (offering rides home in car and place to stay over night in town and such - really good people taking care of each other). There was one girl who they couldn't reach at first, she worked close to one place where it happened and both her mobile and land line didn't work work for a while. Everyone now confirmed ok. Only minor snag is, since transportation will be bad for some time, they might postpone their outing to the Dr Who Exhibition in Brighton this Sat. "Our Paul" had to stay overnight in London, Don said. Hmm and here was I planning on congratulate you to getting the Olympic games. Well, good luck to that, anyhow. Really a nice win there over Paris. (So, sweet by the way, they interviewed a Swedish man who took his first olympic gold medal in London in 1948. Gert Fredriksson in canoeing, who is now 85, and he said he would really like to go to London in 2012. "So, you'll go there when you're 93", the reporter asked. - "Well, perhaps that will be pushing it", Mr. Fredriksson said ;D) Well I guess that is it for now, from Sweden. Take care daxmaryrussel (who thinks Otter should come to Sweden, lots of fun things to do and big fish to catch , he is welcome anytime) --- "No one talks peace unless he's ready to back it up with war." Thanks to Kev and all the members for your concern...and thank you to all our overseas readers who wrote to me expressing thoughts...I wish you would post as enthusiastically as you expressed yourselves in the wonderful emails Thank The Great Maker for this sane part of the electronic universe, would'st that all areas of humanity was as this. I would also like to thank the many other folks, mostly from the USA, who have emailed solidarity with the people of Britain, not just London, a lot of you are eBayers who have found this forum through my sales, others I don't know but your words are appreciated and this Board acknowledges your sincerity. Peace and Long Life....and as an old mate of mine used to say "don't let the buggers get you down, you are only down when you are down, and we ain't down"

The outpouring of concern has touched us all - showing what a real sense of community we have here.
My thoughts are with the victims of this cowardly act of violence.

I was caught in one of the tubes for a while but I'm alright. Just a few cuts. I was suprised to see it mentioned on here though. It really shows how caring we are for our fellow posters.

I am well and truely glad that everyone is OK! Thank goodness that you got out ok Zolly! May peace finally come sooner rather than later despite these idiots who prey on the innocent! How in the name of the Universe can they possibly win themselves any support by carrying out such sensless acts of terror !?!
May it strengthen everyones resolve!
Best wishes all!

Mass indescriminate murder doesn't exactly create sympathy for ANY group - so they're pointless actions! And I think it DOES strengthen our resolve in far more powerful ways. And in the new spate of bombings - I once again hope everyone is ok.

Good to hear people keep their resolve. I thought twice (quickly) but still booked my ticket to come to London mid August. On another note - I got this picture today. Don't know if it's real (looks real enough) and it's suppose to be from Notting Hill station. daxmaryrussel (who'll make sure to improve my blonde highlights, leave backpack at home... naah, 'cause I will still look foreign) --- "War is never imperative." dax, The sign is genuine, it appeared in London newspapers and on local TV. It was erected by London Underground staff at a number of stations within central London, that is why it has a 'rushed' appearance. They copied it and sent it around 20 stations. Glad you booked a flight to London, its fun here, you have not lived until you have played 'pass the parcel' in our fab city ;D I'll get you a London Pride or two when we next meet

Hi again! Apparently that pic was a fake according to discussions/comments at flickr www.flickr.com/photos/agnte/28744614/Is it a fake? "I'd say it probably is but if so it's very clever. The "camera shake smudge" is in the right direction, the blue is the same hue that they use for the boards and it's suitably wordy ("platforms and concourses") But the 'handwritten' text seems very slightly sharper than the pre printed labels and the frame. There's also a "smear" below the words "all day" which could be a photoshop cloning to remove actual text on the board. OK, so that's my analytical view. As to whether the gag is in good taste... well, it made alot of people in the office laugh. Not sure what that says." But because it was my 30th year to date stardate:07/07/1975.
