If you've seen the bit about Jonathan's Club - you'll know I'm in two minds whether to accept Gene Roddenberry - as he claims to have asked him to join his Club years before he ran it - and was apparently only 4 at the time - do you think it's genuine?

I don't think we can accept as The One is no longer with us to be able to confirm or deny. I would say the same for any deceased person - a shame though - possibly if anyone is ever lucky enough to meet Majel perhaps she could posthomously advise?

Well that's the main problem - he's gathered a few SINCE starting his Club that have since passed away - and since he's merged his Club into ours - the Honorary Members come with it - but I'm not sure I believe the Gene Roddenberry one in particular

I kind of think that one really would need some looking into,I was kind of Blown away myself when I read that,I mean the answer he gave is possible but I just don't know if it is.............plausible(?) I mean it woukld be awesome but if we can't prove it then we are kind of stuck if someone calls us on it. Is there a way to do 2 lists ? 1 for current and 1 for past? and can we bring in his honary members without their consent(or the consent of their families?)

I think they should be added, apart from Gene. He seems to have asked Gene at an inconcievably young age, and a decade before his group started. For those reasons alone I find it somewhat dubious.
The others he has listed are all feasable, but the unlikely nature of the first one puts doubt on them.
If there was photographics proof of his meetings then that would lend great weight to his standpoint.
Actually, I am in a Star Wars R.P.G. group of about 30 which has dwindled to 8 and the founder has asked if I want to take over as he has become disenchanted with it. I have accepted on the ground I can do what I like to it. My plan is to move it to here and play on the Forum's R.P.G. section if that is alright.
And the Founder once wrote to someone as a fan. When they responded, he re-wrote and asked if they would be our equivalent of an Honorary Member to whicvh he accepted. So by default, once again, this figurehead has moved with us. Do you agree?

well as long as the group is merging with EDF I would by de-fault yes. I tend to agree - now thanks to a PM from XIXOR - I can announce the latest HM - which XIXOR has given me the pleasure of announcing... Sir Alec Guinness

Kev, can we make Johnathon an honorary member? This is probably a bad time to ask but after reading what his brother said I think he deserves it very much, sorry if this isn't very clear kind of hard to write through my tears-

What is planned is a transfer - we have a place where our Members who have passed away are stationed... Starbase Eternity[/i][/size] Jonathan is the second EDF Member to pass away since we started back in 1992 - there'll be a section on the new website for it - and here on the forum
