I loved the Bishop Android in Aliens, I thought he did a very good job with the part adding more warmth and humanity to the character of "Bishop" He seemed more life like and human,more apt to help than just blindly follow orders.

I'd have to agree with what you've said. Lance did indeed manage to bring a lot of warmth to the character of Bishop in Aliens, a stark difference to that of Ash in Alien.
From memory this differed greatly to Alien 3 however.

I think the biggest difference their is that Bishop was torn in half,not working right and on a trash pile-Kind of hard to bring alot of feeling from the set up--Though even though he was in that condition he tried to help Ripley as much as he could when she located and turned him back on to get some information from him.

When BISHOP said, "Believe me, I prefer not to...I may be synthetic, but I'm not stupid", he endeared himself to me, especially since I had taken an immediate dislike to ASH on first sight.
