Watched the film (at last) the other week and I must say I was a bit disappointed, yes the effects are better, and the song is funny, but I think the actors in the radio play and the BBC TV version were much better.

I was a bit disappointed too, must admit I preferred the actors who did the TV & radio series. By the way did you notice the original Marvin in the Vogon's waiting room and the original Arthur Dent's voice as the automatic "Greeter" on the planet Magrathea?

Since I haven't seen the original tv Hitchhiker's (only read the first book ages ago) I thought the film was rather good. Yep, did recognise original Marvin despite this (seen pictures of him before, so...) but the original Arthur Dent's voice was news to me. Interesting info - thanks. dax

Yep, I noticed them as well It was nice they made an appearance. I also thought Ford had a much smaller part than in the others.

It was a great BBC show and a good movie. It did leave me wanting though. They didn't finish the movie. They never got to the restaurant at the end of the universe.
