Well i had to try and tie it into the general sci fi section hehe I have just got back from my two week trip to Florida and have a little sci-fi experience to share. I've been to Florida a few times and Universal Studios is my favourite destination given my love of the very cool 'Terminator' experience. Anyone else been on that 'ride'? I just love it.. but then I do LOVE the Terminator movies. This year though they have a new sci-fi ride called 'mission Space' at Epcot, which I of course had to check out, it was very cool, though the first time we were on it we all came out of hypersleep for the machine to break down and we were locked in the rather enclosed cockpit for 20+ minutes (well better than it breaking down during hypersleep!!! ). As I was the Commander I of course had to keep the crew calm LOL Seriously though when I returned to the working ride hours later it worked and was a cool experience and I never had to use the sick bags that were in front of everyones station. A lot of fun for those heading to Epcot. Well I think that's about it, it's good to be home though I am suffering from the dreaded jetlag.. which is unusual for me.

Sounds like you had an amazing time - and thanks for sharing it with us - way cool I loved the Terminator ride in Los Angeles - "Terminator 3D: Battle Across Time"- in fact - I loved EVERYTHING about L.A. ! Susieg has also been to Florida a few times so she's the USA expert from between the two of us - she much preferred Florida - but I've only been the LA so had no basis for comparison - mainly we were there during a cold spell - which I loved - but she was expecting some heat in California (the sunshine state?) The T3 ride is truely awesome - and I'm so glad you loved you Stateside Holiday ;D

Hi Hope you had a great holiday (Florida is a wonderful place) I have to admit to a few turns on the Terminator Ride it is great. I was hoping to see the Atlantis shuttle take off on my first visit to Florida but due to a problem the lift off date was postponed and eventually took place as I was flying home But the visit to the Cape was inspiring and to get to see the insides of a shuttle was awesome. I think part of the reason for no being as impressed with LA was due to the mix up with the Beam Me Up Scotty convention. When we initially booked it was to attend this event and within 2 days of booking the flight and hotel the convention organisers changed the convention date from June to the end of August. We were unable to change flights as the airline stance was you have paid if you dont go no refund, they would not even consider a change to our booking. Maybe another visit would change my mind Susieg

Same here about the Shuttle launch Susieg, seems par for the course really. We were stuck in the traffic jam of everyone coming back disappointed from the initial launch window though and that was a nightmare lol
All up though a great holiay. As sci-fi rides go I do love the ones at Universal but as for trek nothing has beaten the cool rides at the Hilton in Las Vegas! Amazing.
Sucks about your flight problems.. usually if you say some sort of big problem they'll give you an %85 refund as far as I'm aware provided you let them know in time (death in the family or whatever). So long as they have time to resell your ticket. Try that should it happen again.
