First, did I even spell memorabilia correctly? Second, two very good friends gave us the complete DVD set for Christmas. I had forgotten how much I loved this show. But now, the kids are hooked too. Does anyone know where I can find some S:AAB posters? I found a couple of patches on eBay, but nothing else.

Sorry, I don't know about SAAB posters... Oh yes, found out that artcom sold them earlier Here is the link: www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/http://eu.art.com/asp/sp-asp/_/Aff--CONF/CTID--170435650/RFID--065076/TKID--15031571/pd--10042038/posters.htmCyberpursuits have SAAB books www.cyberpursuits.com/heckifiknow/saab/coolstuff.asp in case you haven't seen that another SAAB poster Arbo, I loved the film Wing Commander, but I didn't especially like SAAB, to much violence and "Beverly Hills in Space". A shame, I think it could have been an interesting series... with the new planet they found etc. (I'm more into exploring space then fighting evil aliens - strangely enough Wing Commander I found was ok) dax

Well found dax!! I know what you mean about S:AAB being quite violent. I think the cast helped Wing Commander, having actors like David Warner and David Suchet helps! I don't know why it didn't do well at the box office.
But who could not remember David Duchovny playing Handsome Alvin!! Can't remember the name of the episode though.

The episode with Handsome Alvin is called "R&R" -- when they're on the pleasure ship (?) Bacchus. (That's what happens when you get the boxed set. You start memorizing episode titles.) My favorite is "Stay with the Dead" with "Angriest Angel" a close second. I hadn't thought about the show in years until we got the set as a gift for Christmas. I've already chastised the gift givers for turning our brains into mush. (We haven't really watched TV since '95 or '96, but we do watch a lot of DVDs. It's easier to monitor with kids.) S:AAB is sort of battle-intense, but believe it or not, it's a pretty good teaching tool. War is heck, and good people die. And sometimes, then enemy looks a lot like us. Thanks for the leads on posters. I'll see what I can find.

"Stay with the Dead" can you referesh my memory, what happens in that episode? It's been a very long time since I've watched this. Might have to look at the cost of the box set.

This episode sort of centers around West. He is rescued from an intense battle, but is told that the rest of the 58 is dead. He insists that they aren't dead, but remember exactly what happened. The docs want to remove part of his brain so he won't suffer PTSD and keep thinking the 58 is alive. He finally remembers what happened, the 58 is rescued, and everyone is happy. It's actually very well acted, and Morgan Weisser (who plays West) does a great job of a wounded soldier trying to remember the critical piece of info that will save his friends. It choked me up. (OK, OK, I cry at just about everything -- but it was an emotional episode.)

Ahhhh yes, now I remember that one. It was a good one. Its a shame they don't re-run the show. Here's a question, what was the Wild Cards call signs, does anyone remember...

Shane Vansen was the Queen of Diamonds. Nathan West was the King of Diamonds, I think. Paul Wang was the Joker. Vanessa Damphousse was the Queen of Hearts. Cooper Hawkes, the In Vitro, was the Ace of Spades. . . . Oh, and their squadron commander, McQueen, was something with a six in it -- Queen Six? I'll have to watch another episode to see if I can catch McQueen's call sign.

Ha ha, excellent!! Hopefully you've still got a few episodes to go. I think it was 22 eps made? It was nice of Fox to let that many get made and not stop after 15 or so. Dose anyone know if the DVD set is out for Region 2? I had a quick look and only found Region 1 copies.

OK, now I'm showing my provincialism. What's Region 1 and Region 2? Do they release the DVDs at different times around the globe. Would my USA version not work in the UK? There were a bunch of DVDs for sale on eBay here, but I didn't check eBay.uk

I think the Region coding is something put onto DVD's to stop people buying cheap DVD’s from other countries. North America is Region 1, Europe Region 2; so a DVD bought in America won't play on an European DVD player...(unless you have a region-free player which should be able to play any.) hometheater.about.com/cs/dvdlaserdisc/a/aaregioncodesa.htm has a little info about it. They do release DVD,s at different times as well. For example Serenity (the firefly movie) was released in the US before Christmas, while won't be released in the UK until the end of February but it will contain a few extra features. I hope that helps.
