/snipOH and by the way - that really was the set of Cheers - the real Norm's chair and the real bar - the entire thing was moved to the Hollywood Entertainment Museum
super cool! I watched a lot of Cheers episodes a long long time ago ;D and I used to like it a lot! It's a really fun picture and memory to have, Kev.
I was outside that museum, I think - or something like that one. Was it on Hollywood Boulevard? I got there like quarter to six and they closed at six - but I got a cool pic with me and a mega big Klingon statue....
A big Klingon and a not so tiny dax...
I rested my arms on the bar EXACTLY where actor George Wendt had his - as the perspex laminate bar top had been worn away over the years of filming - showing just where his arms always lay - cool huh?
Impressive. We must exchange these cool LA stories more... (Hmm is there a new category there?... or maybe it goes under "meeting famous people" which I think is already here at the message board).
At my tour around Paramount Studios they showed sound stage 25 (only from the outside). At least I think it was 25. They said it was their lucky number and that sound stage has been the main shooting location for two of Paramount's biggest hits: Cheers and Frasier. After Frasier it's closed - hmm I wonder if they will have any more mega success shows like those
Apparently Star Trek is not as big They were in sound stage 18 and I only have pics from the outside
Mmm inside Enterprise is still filming
daxmaryrussel (who has actually worn the same Starfleet uniform that Shatner used in the second Star Trek film "The Wrath of Khan" - cool hey - it was bought at an auction by a Swedish guy for I think 11,000 USD - and he had it with him to one of our conventions and a few of us could actually try it on! The TWOK uniform that is on display at Star Trek Experience is a replica )
Shatner must have been tiiiny back then
p.s. Sorry to bore you but please tell me to stop if you don't want to see more pics ;D
